As an Illinois resident, I'm pretty embarassed by our government right now. I'm pretty sure Lincoln is rolling over in his grave.

Illinois just seems to be one of those places that seems to have trouble with corruption. I don't know why. I make no assumptions when I say that. I'm just... you know, it's been a few of those governors/senators who have been in trouble.

I guess it's a domino effect to it. When one has tried, and it has worked fine, it gets more tempting to another. And when others do it, it gets risky not to

So it is a good thing that all of these cases are coming up, so that it can be dealt with

3 of the last 7 governors have been in jail. Your assumption isn't wrong. Blago looks to be our 4th out of 8.

Sheesh, that's really embarrassing. The worst part is that he'll probably never be tried for his crimes.

that makes half of them. that's a hell of a lot.

kind of makes sense to what we heard in the presidential campaigns anti-Obama, that one should be careful to trust a "Chicago-politician"

Chicago is infamous for its dirty politics. On the other hand Lincoln was an Illinois politician.

I'm not sure, but I can't seem to wrap my mind about it.

Not to be overly simplistic, but there's a fairly significant aspect of American culture that seems to be associated with the American car industry. (Obviously, American culture has many, many things in it that are not at all tied to cars.)

Anyway, it just seems very strange that to see the whole thing collapse and potentially being bought out by European companies.

My heart really goes out to the workers - they don't deserve this. But many people are waking up each morning to find out that they're no longer with a job. All I can say is that there's going to be a whole lot more people filing for unemployment benefits by the time the sun rises tomorrow.
