the first debate is tonight Thurs Sep 30th, 2004

I'm gonna be watching it in few, starts soon... I'm interested in what the candiates have to say tonight. Past Debates have been memorable too..
Sounds like they set a lot of rules for the debate tonight, it's a little bit different then the last debate in 2000..

don't you just love how when bush asked him to explain why he didn't vote for the 87 billion dollars of "Help," he ducked the question and turned it around on bush? Please....

Oh and I love how Kerry keeps puting words in the Presidents mounth? Good times...

But what about when Bush was asked about when troops would be pulled out of Iraq and he turned it into a reason to go into Iraq?

no he didn't! He said it's not realistic to give a date of when they will pull out, because he doesn't know. They are doing the best they can to get what they need to so sone and pull out as soon as possible...

Did Bush even bother to feign reading the rules for this thing? Seriously. Maybe someone should have drawn him some pictures so he could understand that interrupting and going over is time isn't supposed to be allowed.

I can't stand his ignorance of other cultures and just general arrogance. I love America. I love our version of freedom, but WTF are we to assume that our way is the only way acceptable for everyone in the world?

He didn't outright answer the question. He took probably a whole 1/5 minutes until he answered the question. Yes, he did eventually answer the question, BUT he tried to beat around the bush to do it. It's almost like he needed to think of something that would please people. A debate isn't completely about pleasing someone or another, a lot of it is about showing their views. Whether that pleases a certain group or not is secondary to showing their views.

Are you saying that Bush is doing better? Personally I feel Bush doesn't even know what he's saying. It's almost like he's a dummy saying what he's told or at least trying to remember to say what he's been told. Kerry seems to me that he actually believes what he's saying. That he actually trying to answer the question honestly. I personally don't feel I can and should believe anything coming out of Bush's mouth.

My dad and I decided that Kerry's voice sounds like he could be an infomercial announcer (because it's monotone)... and now while he's talking we keep voicing over him saying things like "But wait! Call now..."

Kerry's actually answering questions and debating. Bush is stuttering, smirking, and just repeating. That makes him better in my opinion.
