This topic comes up from the recent debate going on regarding the bailout of Freddie and Fannie Mae from the housing slump mess:

Some say that this is a misuse of U.S. tax dollars while others say that this is the only way to rectify the mortgage crisis.

is this a fair move being done? Does this question how tax dollars are generally being used in America?

In general, I understand the need for taxes to improve our schools and roads but not to bail out companies that were greedy. They should have been more careful in the first place.

tax money is never used the way people want it to be

That's true enough, but then there are times when they seem to be spent in ways that simply boggle the mind.

Like bailing out huge corporations when large parts of New Orleans still look like a war zone and there are soldiers in Iraq running around with no armour on.

^ Exactly. But there's always enough money aside to send for wars and big companies. I really don't agree with how the tax dollars are being used right now.
