Tim Russert Dead at 58

I'm very surprised no one has posted this yet. He died this afternoon at work. Probably from a heart attack says MSNBC.

That's a real shame. He left a great legacy.

He was able to ask questions which the average american would ask if they had a chance. I am a Canadian but I have a vivid memory of the 2000 election and the white whipe board that he used that said 'Florida! Florida! Florida!.' Meet the press was something that I watched every sunday for years. I cannot imagine that I will have to get through an election without his guideness. He was able to take the point of veiw of an american (not demorate or republican), and guide the questions that produced answers that explained the world of american politics for that week. I also wish to work in the world of political broadcasting, and have been working for this for years, he was amoung the best that american had. American journalism has allot to learn from this man.

RIP

I loved watching him on Meet The Press. I could see how excited he was every week about the upcoming election. He will be missed.

I am so sad to hear the passing of Tim Russert. He was a great speaker and a great journalist. He even spoke at my brother's graduation from Boston College. He had this enegry and the crowd as well as the graduates felt it. He will be missed. May he rest in peace. My thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones.

I am saddened for his family and, in a larger sense, for the world news/politics community.

Unfortunately, my only knowledge of him has been of his appearances on various shows to promote his books. So I have no real memory of his great professionalism, of which I have no doubt. I'm just saying, I felt a little sad for myself when I head of his passing. Because I never got to know the man, so to speak, professionally.
