Teacher fired for photos on phone

Quote:
The photos were on the woman's cell phone. Some students in a health class who viewed the camera phone pictures, including at least one where the teacher was nude, reported her to administrators.

The 28-year-old teacher, whose name wasn't released, was fired February 15th.

Now a teacher is fired for something she does in her personal time and happens to keep it on her phone. But the kids, who decided they should be able to go through other peoples private property, aren't punished at all? Glad that school is teaching these kids how they should act.

Oh the irony. Kinda like when K-Mart sold that camera to the lady and it turned out the man was playing with himself ...the irony all right.

But that's really off if the teacher got fired because it was the kids that went through her stuff. It's not like she decided to say "Hey Kids, here's me when I'm all by myself and my husband's not home. I like to strip off my clothes and think thoughts. Did you know I do this on my spare time?"

Now, if it was like that...that's a different story. But the kids went through her phone. I'm surprised they got away with it.

What's this about Kmart, a camera and some guy playing with himself? I didn't hear about that - tell me.

If she showed it to them then yeah she should get fired.

If they went through her phone without permission then they should get suspended or something and really nothing should happen to her.. but she should know better than to have naked pics on her phone that she takes to work.

And how the hell old were the kids anyway? If they're like 15 then it's nothing they haven't seen. And they should be the ones getting in trouble.

Wow, that's so not fair. They intrude on her personal life, and she gets fired? That's stupid

A lady bought a digital camera from Wal-Mart for her daughter, but when they got it home they found nude pics and videos of a man playing with himself on there. There were also pics of a child, not sure if the kid was nude, but I think it was child pornography.

Why were the kids going through her stuff anyway?? Unless there were pictures of naked children I don't think the school had any grounds for firing her.

It doesn't really matter that it was her personal things. She brought nude photos into a school. I know my school had rules against that. For a teacher to do it is worse IMO.

This one teacher I had once got in trouble for wearing a thong at school. The skirt she had on was white and I guess you could see through it. At another school I went to I got in trouble for having Swimsuit photos in the cover of a binder of mine.

The difference between that and what happened with this woman is that all of that was visible to anyone. This womans photos were on her phone, and the only way you could see them is if you picked it up and went through it. She probably figured that it wouldn't be a big deal considering kids shouldn't go through your personal things.

My 11th grade math teacher was a model named "Carmen Marie." That wasn't her real name, but her modeling lame. On Wednesdays we had these special classes and one was modeling which she taught. Well she shared her website and soon everyone knew it! It's still up too.

Yes, that was my math teacher in 11th grade. She was a horrible, horrible teacher too, but not too bad to look at

They're teenagers, they are known to do what they shouldn't be doing in most cases. Besides, an adult, a teacher shouldn't have brought anything with nude images into a school. I just see this as almost being equal with: if she would have brought drugs in her purse and then everyone said she shouldn't be in trouble because it was her purse.

I dont get your logic at all..... Its illegal to posses drugs, but it isn't illegal to posses naked images of yourself. How does that even compare?

So the teens should get away with it because they are "known to do what they shouldn't be doing in most cases."

Teenagers know not to swear, should they be able to get away with that aswell? How about, to the extreme, killing someone?

Invading personal privacy isn't something that should be taken lightly!

How did they view the photos? If you take nude photos of yourself, don't you think you should be careful to keep your phone with you and not let kids see it? I don't see how they got the phone - it's not like you leave something like that out.

Fine, change drugs to a gun. It's not illegal to have a gun. If it was in her purse at school and some kid found it. Would people be saying that she shouldn't be in trouble because they went into her purse?

I'm not saying that nothing should happen to the kids who stole her property. I'm just saying that as a teacher and an adult she should not have brought in the phone which had nude images. Also as someone older she should know that "teenagers are known to do what they shouldn't be doing in most cases.".

I was talking to that extent because everyone was saying how unfair it was that she was fired. It wasn't IMO, they had cause to fire her.
