Frankly ,dont know the law but they have had the copyrighted name/logo for over 40 years .
I would think Redskins cant be forced to change a logo name after all this time . Again not sure of the legality of this . like too little too late . why didnt the NFL etc go after it 20 yrs ago 14 - 10 ys ago . Why now ? __________________

Probably because political correctness is more important today than it was 40 years ago.
At least, that would be my guess. And you're right, they can't be made to change their name. At the same time, people don't have to buy merchandise or advertising from them either. So there are definitely pressure tactics that can be used. Legal ones, too. __________________

This is disgusting:

Medical information is privileged. I hope whomever's behind this is caught and that the punishment is severe. This is grave violation of ethics and privacy rights. __________________

But what do you all think? Was it a bite or was it a bump? I didn't see. The replay I saw made it seem like a really fast thing, leading me to think that it may have been no more than a bump, but maybe a different angle would reveal something else. And, of course, his past is against him on this one. __________________

I didn't watch that match, so missed him biting. Hope it doesn't happen again. Seems like a long enough ban from playing any matches.

Obviously, FIFA deemed it a bite.
I guess that settles it. __________________

The actual person he bit said it was too much of a punishment. I've already moved on.
Have you been watching any of Wimbledon? Li lost today. She was the 2nd seed on the women's side. Caroline Wozniacki has been playing much better than she did at the French Open last month. Nice to see Milos Raonic & Genie Bouchard continue their success at grand slam tournaments this year. They're my picks to win it. __________________

That's not the first time that Suarez behaved like that, and he doesn't seem to want to learn. His punishment should have been much harsher given his history.
And now Blatter seems open to implementing instant replay, at last: Quote:
I truly hope he doesn't get re-elected, btw. __________________

It may well be that he's only trying to save face with this implementation of instant replay.
But I really do thing it's the right way to go regardless, you know? When you have incidents like the Suarez biting thing, or anything similar, I think it would help to have access to the footage. Meanwhile: Quote:
I suppose the judge could always surprise us all, but I think it's becoming increasingly clear that the only probable verdict is a guilty one. I do find it interesting that people living up to 177 metres away have testified that they heard the victim scream, though. I guess people will do a lot to get their 15 minutes, huh? __________________

Having said that... whatever, you know? I'm sure he's emotional. He may very well "lose" his own life, at least as he knows it, the way things are looking. __________________

Walking away from Pistorius for a bit, World Cup visitors have had a tragedy this week:

But I have to admit that, given what led up to the World Cup, I had anticipated far more deaths. It's still horrible that anyone has died as the result of unfinished infrastructures, but this isn't as bad as I'd feared it would be. __________________

I don't think I'm being naive when I say that. Yes, there will always be people to follow their basest instincts to their own benefit. But I still think it's sick. __________________

But, for one, I don't think anything could make him look anything but bad at this point. Plus, it's not like it's news that he's got a temper, right? __________________

I guess. Apparently he was ''flat drunk'', so things like can happen when you're in that condition. Closing arguments for his case are not scheduled for at least 3 weeks.

Yea, they do things a bit differently in South Africa, apparently.
