Police: 'Spitting' Teen Shocked With Taser At Disney

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A teen was shocked with a Taser gun and several others were detained at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom theme park after they attacked officers responding to reports they were spitting at guests, according to police.

A Disney security guard said three teens and two adults who were visiting the Magic Kingdom from Long Island Sunday were spitting at guests and cursing.

When a sheriff's deputy responded, the five are accused of punching and kicking the officer and other security guards at the park.

The deputy said he was forced to use a Taser gun to subdue one of the teens.

All five of the theme park visitors were taken into custody and charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest.

Okay, what the teens did was gross but I seriously do not believe that you needed to bring a Taser gun in to this

Security/Cops these days seem to use the Taser for practically anything whether it be small crimes to big ones.

Well, according to the article it was because of the assault on the officers, not because of the spitting:

I've noticed my mistake in my first post after I read the article for a second time.

But, still, was it necessary? Taser is better than a lot of other things, without doubt, but... I wasn't there, so I can't really say anything on the matter. Teens should stop spitting. It's gross. People do it all the time, even inside or on the football field! It's really disgusting!

I don't know. I'm pretty anti-violence myself, but if it's a matter of needing to subdue... what was it, five people?... I say being tasered is a pretty decent way of doing it. It's unpleasant, but it causes less damage than a club to the head, say. Or, not to be too dramatic, a bullet.

But, yeah, the spitting must stop. It's incredibly gross and insulting. And, quite frankly, it makes the people who do it look like they were raised in a barn. So for the sake of their mothers, if no one else, the spitting must stop.

ITA. They sound like a bunch of bullys and brats who need a swift kick.

What else are the cops going to do though? Ask them politely to stop hitting them and stop spitting?
