Justice has been served but how long will it take for it to be carried out?

IMO this is great news but the bad thing is since people rarely get executed in California Scott's more likely to die of natural causes before getting executed.

He may be the next Jeffrey Dahlmer and be lynched in prison.

God. I just really, really hate the death penalty. What he did was horrible but I don't think the dealth penalty should ever be an option.

To me the death penalty is just an easy way out. He should suffer for the rest of his life for what he did instead of just a few seconds.

I knew he'd get the death penalty. All I can say is good.

I don't think he should get the death penalty. I don't really think anyone should, but especially in a case like this where the evidence is...well, mostly just weird behavior. He probably did commit murder, but you can't put someone to death just because you're pretty sure he killed someone. I would NEVER feel comfortable knowing someone is going to be executed unless I had absolute PROOF. Which they don't.

And I seriously doubt he'd be getting the death sentence if the victim wasn't his pretty, pregnant, all-American wife. That's the only reason it got so much national attention in the first place. It was all scandalous because Laci seemed like such an appealing person and he was having this whole sordid affair. Less attractive women mysteriously disappear all the time and nobody cares about them.

I agree, I'm not against the death penalty but I think that if that is going to be the sentence you need to be 100% sure that person is the one who commited the crime.

And there was no concrete evidence that he did it. Yes, I personally think that he did but all the evidence that I've heard of is the weird behavior and his affair. Then again, how many married men have affairs? That isn't proof.

And honestly, I doubt he would have even been found guilty if the wife hadn't been pregnant and it was huge media news.

Very well said.
There was no physical or froensic evidence found in this case at all. All the evidence was circumstantiel which i think is NOT ENOUGH to sentence someone to death let alone acuse them of murder. Now they sentence him to death and that's just the way it goes without say. This case just shows how unfair some trials are.
I also think he did it, but that's not enough. Thinking or assuming isn't a valid reason to put someone to death. I'm also against the death penalty to begin with butt hat's another story.

See, with no physical evidence in a few years we could find out that he wasn't the killer. We may not see it now but at the same time the news has basically made it seem like he was the only suspect.

Ignore the fact that another dead pregnant woman showed up in the same area around the same time.

That's enough to show that maybe, just maybe, he wasn't the one who did it. But once he's dead you can't just say 'opps' and bring him back.

I don't think bleaching his hair, withdrawing all his money from the bank, and driving to Mexico helped him either.

Personally, I support the death penalty and especially in this case. Why should he get to live, even in prison, the rest of his life when his wife & child cannot? I think the punishment fits the crime in this case. I was surprised for a jury in California to hand it down but then again I thought they wouldn't find him guilty either.
