| I think that's terrible. Children can't even be safe in school. Having all the doors and windows locked at the schools may make the children feel like they are imprisioned during school. I know it's important to keep children and faculty safe, but I think it's sad when such extremes have to be taken. I'm glad I'm basically done with school. I graduate from college in December. I'd hate to still be in school (K-12) considering all the problems. I think it's sad that kids think about blowing up schoools, and in some cases have. I guess all the morals and values have gone straight out the window. It might make me sound old, but I know when I was in school (K-12) we knew better. Even if someone though about wanting something to happen to the school, they would never have actually done anything. The generation of children in school now have to experience something far different than what I did. To think I"m only (almost) 26. Yet my schooling was vastly different. Instead of having to worry about our safety 24/7 we were able to calmly sit in school and learn. No wonder why some kids have trouble learning today. How can we expect kids to pay attention to school work, when they don't even know if they'll make it through another school day or not? __________________ Family Ties Seasons 1-5 on dvd! ![]() | |||

| I know what you mean-- I'm finished with college and was out of high school at the time of the Columbine shooting. I never felt scared when I was in K-12th, and only once during college (9/11) did I fear something terrible would happen at the university. I can't imagine what it must be like for a child to go to school when they constantly hear about school bombings, shootings, etc. Especially those kids in the targeted school districts. | |||

The difference now though, is that politicians are playing on people's fears. It's becaome fashionable to be scared of everything. | |||

| Ultimate Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Kids don't have trouble learning because of a bomb threat, they have trouble learning because they don't care. I had a bomb threat at my school. It was September 13th, 2001. I've also had gun threats at my school. I still went to school even when I knew about them because if you live your life in fear you're never really living. There's a chance I could get shot in my school, but it's more likely that I could get in an accident in my car and that doesn't stop me from driving. __________________ Real Gamers Wear Pink "There is nothing to writing.
