Satellite Radio

Since it has been making the news so much lately I just wondered what everyone thinks about it. Anyone have Sirius?

Sirius!

er. sorry. leftover harry potter trauma.

I feel a little behind here, actually. What's satellite radio? Something that lets you pick up radio signals from other cities?

Satellite radio is the future!

Take the FCC out of the equation! No censorship!

I've heard of it, but I don't have it. Isn't that where Howard Stern broadcasts now?

I don't believe that Howard will move to Sirius until January of 2006.

I am very excited about the future of satellite radio. It has the chance to be very big. Thank god the government won't be able to regulate what goes on the airwaves.

It's true free speech!

I believe the NFL has also agreed to a contract for games to be broadcast on Sirius.

Sirius I believe is suppose to have a exclusive deal with Eminem and Howard Stern

XM is more well known, because it has been around much longer.

The value of Satelitte radio is..

~~No stupid commericals
~~No FCC regulations. Its just like premium cable..
~~Good reception

No commercials would improve radio a lot I don't see myself really using this though, since I rarely listen to the radio. Maybe in a few years from now.

*is still not entirely sure what it is exactly, but, okay*

From what I've heard it's basically like satellite TV. You have to pay a monthly fee and all that jazz. You can have it hooked up in your car too. I dunno how that works though. It looks pretty cool. It shows the song title and the band name and stuff. I'm thinking about getting one. Maybe sometime next spring.

Howard move to Sirius could happen sooner than alot of people expect. There have been recent reports that Sirius is in talks to buy out Howard contract which would move him over to Sirius at that moment. I'll get it whenever he moves there. My local radio station dropped Howard sometime last year due to complaints (I live in the South so its not surprising). To be able to finnaly hear the guy without him having to hold back every few seconds will be nice.
