The city has budgeted $14.4 billion to the effort, the largest amount of any of the four finalists, according to IOC figures. The final vote was down to Rio and Madrid, Spain. | Ultimate Fan | I had a friend who lives in Chicago and before the vote took place, she said she'd rather not have the olympics in Chicago just because of all the hassle the building would cause. Besides, she said there's enough traffic in Chicago anyway. The city would have been chaos the entire time the Olympics were there so she was kind of happy they didn't get the bid.
