I dont know quite where to post this, or if its appropriate, or under what heading to put it. I just see a lot of debate on this topic and I think a thread wher we can all post, debate, and discuss our feelings God and religion would be nice.

So I guess we could start with the first question.

Is there a God?

Opinions.

Well I guess thats my question, this isn't only a christian thread, thats what I want to discuss. Any God(s). Anybody's opinion(s).

Maybe a better title would be "Religious Discssion"? The title as it is, is a bit abrupt.

I think there is a God, but I don't know which religious presuasion he is, or if he's none at all, or all of them.

Maybe it would, we can ghange it, that was just thee first thing that came to mind.

I think God isn't a religion, he's a person and has a personal relationship with anyone who wants one with him. I also think that God has established his church on earth, but you don't have to be a part of it for Him to know and love you personally.

I don't think anyone will ever know, one way or another, whether there is a god. You can't say that there absolutely is one, and you can't say that there absolutely isn't. If there is I feel that it's a force far too big for us to comprehend. And I don't feel that it would have human characteristics like many religions suggest; I don't believe in referring to god as "He" or "She."

I like the god that's presented on the show Joan of Arcadia...it often points out that different religions are different ways of relating to god, and that no single religion is "right."

I used to believe in God, but then reality came and knocked some sense in to me.

I still identify with my religion, but I think I'm agnostic now.

I think that it is possible to know for sure, and its a very personal thing. I know for sure but I don't expect everyone else to.

i'm undecided on whether i believe there is a god or not. but i don't consider myself an atheist. what i do know, is that there is no christian/jewish/muslim/whatever god. if one exists he/she/it does not have a chosen people, is not vindictive, does not discriminate and loves everyone equally. i'm hesitant to call it he or she, because i don't think it would have male or female form, it would just be a force. i'd compare it to sunsets or aurora borealis.

i don't believe in hell, i think the idea is dumb, and a scare tactic some dude made up. i don't know how i feel about "heaven", but i don't know if everything just ends when you die either. i like the idea of reincarnation, though i'm not sure if i believe in that either.

so um.. i don't know. but i don't worry too much about it, because i have confidence that whatever happens, i'll be okay.

This is a little random. But when I was little I knew that animals have spirits to and I wondered if while we as spirits were waiting to come to earth, God let us come as animals....

You wrote exactly what I wanted to say. I believe there's a higher power out there, but I don't believe in religions.

I find that quite offensive actully. Just because people believe in God, dosen't mean that they aren't being realistic.
