What kind of question is that? How could anyone support what happened there?
It was a terrible thing and I can't even imagine anyone supporting it.

The person who asked me seemed to feel the same way; I was an active part of a gaming community at that point, and was asked in a chatroom for Quake II.

I think he was merely looking for assurances that I wasn't a hate monger, which unfortunately were present (in small but not unnoticable doses) in that community.

I don't think I could be in a community among people like that. I would get out. Seriously, there must be better communities out there.

I am one of those people who cannot stand hatred.

As time went on, that minority that caused trouble (of that nature, at least) were weeded out. It was a mostly good group; I quickly chat-banned (it was a online gaming service) anyone who proved the exception.

Honestly, FF is the best community I've ever come across; this is definitely the rare exception, not the rule.

I'm almost 22, and my father is 57. He is Chinese and came over here to Canada in the 70s. I can remember him talking to me about this when I was younger and how he really resented the Japanese because of what happened and because they never really "owned up" to what happened. Many of my relatives over in China still feel that way.

I confess I don't know that many communities. But I think FF is pretty good when it comes to not allow posts containing hate messages. I'm sorry this is an exception. It should be the rule.
