LOL, Jerry I agree. I just think it's pointless when he never gets over 10%. Has he ever had 5%.
In a way I think he's just there to cause trouble. It's like he has nothing else to do.

Anyway IF Obama loses it won't be because of Nader. Gore didn't lose because of Nader. I think Jeb may have had a finger in the cookie jar but there warped voting system did. I mean I saw those ballots and hell it WAS confusing, names on both sides, arrows pointing in alternating directions

Never mind...

Does anyone know when Obama and McCain have to pick a v.p. to run with them?

I am not a 100% sure but my guess would be before the Conventions.

Ooops, sorry. I guess it's hard to translate tone when posting. I didn't get it. My bad.

And, you're right, most people have nicknames.

I was not making any generalizations at all. I was simply asking the question of "will you weep if Obama loses in November". Some people get really into presidential elections especially with their emotions. I'm sure a lot of John Kerry voters wept when Bush got re-elected in 2004. It's not a generalization at all. Some people get emotional over politics. And it can affect them more than it does others. Personally, I would never cry about a presidential election because it doesn't matter that much to me. I mean whoever the president is does not have a huge impact on my life. Besides, a lot of people have too many things on their plates that makes them apathetic toward politics.

I think you're so right about a lot of people being apathetic, which is why I think you might be wrong about lots of supporters of any candidate weeping if/when they lose.

I'm sure politics are that emotional for some people. But I do think most people go on with their lives, however disappointed they may be.

I’ve never really gotten emotional about any election, and I know I won’t get emotional about this one, but I do think a lot is at stake here. I think the Bush administration has done incalculable damage to this country and its reputation in the world, and I honestly think he’s one of the worst presidents in history, even worse than Richard Nixon, and I just don’t want his policies carried on.

Jacob, you had mentioned that the only thing that Obama can do is give interesting and inspirational speeches, and that he hasn’t done much as a senator, but the same could have been said in 1960 about John F. Kennedy, and he went on to become a great president (in my opinion anyway) and he inspired an entire generation to do things like join the Peace Corps and land a man on the moon. Granted, he had flaws, but I think in many ways, what we look for in a president is someone that can inspire us, and I think that Barack Obama, like John F. Kennedy, has the ability to do that.

I don’t get emotional about elections, but all these years later, when I hear President Kennedy’s speech at the Berlin wall, I still get emotional, and no politician has ever affected me on an emotional level like John F. Kennedy has, and maybe, just maybe, Barack Obama can do the same to a new generation of Americans.

Why complain and whine about the mistakes that Bush has done? Will it fix the mistakes that have happened? Why not stop the whining, complaining, and blaming Bush and try to look forward to the future? I think it's really unfair of people to say that McCain is running for Bush's 3rd term. They both may be Republicans and agree on some things but they are two different people. John Mccain is John McCain, not George W. Bush. I wish people would understand that.

I agree Jerry I think president Bush is worse than Richard Nixon. Even Nixon had a few positives that came out of his presidency that I have read about like the China thing.

Speaking as someone who cares about the environment I am happy to know that no matter who wins it will be nice to have a president who cares about it. It's clear this administration doesn't at all.

I stll don't get the whole "Bush bashing" craze. I mean it's not going to change anything. Bush may have sucked at times as president but he's nowhere close to how bad Hoover and Carter sucked.

Nobody's complaining and whining Jacob, we're just stating our opinions. Why can't you learn to debate respectfully? Is that such a difficult concept for you to understand? We've given you chance after chance, and you're only here now because I'm allowing you to be here, and you just don't seem to get it.

You know, this part of your post:

was just fine, but this part of your post:

really ticks me off, and it's a big part of the reason why you think that everyone hates you. You need to state your point of view in a way that doesn't generalize people and get them mad.

Yes, you're definitely correct that McCain is a different person than Bush, and I actually like him a lot more than I do Bush, but he's already pledged to carry on at least some of the same policies that the Bush Administration have perpetrated on this country, so personally, I'm ready for a change.

McSame, McBush - take your pick. McCain hasn't had an original thought for a long time. I just laugh when he says "well I agree with President Bush on that."

Nixon at least opened up China to the US, made peace in Vietnam to a certain extent and at least attempted to be a statesman. The way Bush has stumbled and bumbled around the world for the last eight years is an embarrassment. His economic policies are killing us.

Change can't come too soon.

I honestly don't see how McCain is Bush. Bush is a lot more conservative than McCain. McCain is somewhat of a liberal.

I think McCain is as fake as they come. He wanted to separate himself from Bush to appeal to the masses so he has flip flopped on his positions.
