Gah.
I agree sunnykerr

Yep, yep, yep! Thankyou W. Bush He's messed us up so much both sides are screwed no matter who wins.

Nader is one of the most supreme political losers. Sit your ass down somewhere. What does he gain by running again and again and again? Just sit down please.

I agree ceilirose. I still don't understand the whole Iraq fiasco anyway. I don't get why the US has to strap of it's cowboy boots and ride into the night to "save" Iraq.

What the hell are the other NUMEROUS countries in the world doing? Not caring, pointing and laughing and the stupid Americans thinking their all that trying to save everything

Why does it feel like the US is handling Iraq all on it's own? So what if we pull out....republicans go "we can't if we do Iraq will crumble" AND?

Will Europe, South Asia, South America, etc just let them crumble? Will no one else help, do they not care. Or have we been in everyone business so long we have so many enemies that all the other people say "that's America's enemy NOT mine" peace out, I'm not getting involved

I just don't understand. So what if we pull out, will Iraq be completely alone? Has Bush screwed us to where ONLY the US can "save" Iraq?

Remaining in Iraq is more to do with it's neighbor to the south than Iraq itself. If we anger the Saudis by leaving Iraq a mess than that could cost us even greater where it already hurts in our wallets at the pump.

Probably not. But that doesn't mean other countries would want to go in and clean up our mess.

Isn't it a matter of Iraq and it's neighbors dealing with the immediate situation rather than the rest of the world? Saudi Arabia can send it's military in, Jordan can do the same. These countries can use diplomatic means to help. There's just no way this country can continue to subsidize Iraq for the near future.

I used to think that the US had to stay there until the mess was cleaned up. But with reports of our tax dollars disappearing into thin air in the amount of billions among other things - it's just can't continue.

We are the mess in Iraq and as long as we're there, it'll never be cleaned up.

Yeah but it was a mess we started so we have to finish it at least in a timely manner. I think by 2010 we can start to see the end of a heavy military presence in Iraq.

Which is what Obama plans to do - the majority of troops out in 16 months from when he hopefully takes office. I do think we have a huge humanitarian debt to Iraq and that's where I wish the focus would (will?) be?

By 2010, that sounds good. Then what is McCain talking about by 2013. What they can't speed it up

Baring a terrorist attack, I still believe the economy will be the #1 issue come November. And as McCain admitted he know's very little about the economy.

So military service and surviving being a prisoner of war is standard presidential qualities? Military service might help because you won't need as much help from advisers BUT knowing how the economy works is a much bigger issue to understand.

Actually, being in the military gives you a limited kind of experience, because no enlisted men and very few officers are in the position to look at the big picture in a war and make the decisions that will affect many lives. An enlisted man is assigned a mission and does what he's told, and an officer may give the orders on a given mission, but fighter pilots, (like John McCain) even though they're officers, basically just carry out assigned missions like enlisted men do. To be sure, I feel that anyone who's served in the military deserves respect, but I don't think it's a prerequisite to be the Commander In Chief.

Granted, Obama doesn't know what it's like to be in the military and be a prisoner of war, but that doesn't make him less qualified to lead this country; it just means his experiences are different than those of McCain.

I think it's always a plus when the president and presidential candidates have served in the military. It shouldn't be a requirement though.

I was just pointing out the fact that Obama has no experience in the military.
The only thing that Obama can do is give interesting inspirational speeches.
Seriously, what has Obama done as a senator? What bills has he been a part of? It just seems like all he does is blame Bush for everything wrong in America and tells us that we need change and that he's going to make everything better. But how is he going to do all that? How is he going to make all your wildest dreams come true?

LOL..Mc Cain is already running ads with Obama and Ahmadinejad. Right here on FF. He pretty much has to be negative to even have a chance.

McCain has a chance. Ya wanna know why? Because the election could go either way. We can't predict the future. For all we know, there could be a big scandal for Obama and it could cost him the election. The same thing could happen to McCain. I'm surprised that no one has gone after McCain for leaving his 1st wife for his current wife.
