New thread for everyone.

Latest discussion: Obama saying Bush isn't the whole problem.

I still think Obama is this election run's Howard Dean. Obama is gonna do something stupid or say something stupid and it's gonna end his magic carpet ride.
And another about Obama, can the man actually give clear definative answers on what his stances are on all the issues and policies? It seems to me like he has given many vague answers on where he stands on a lot of issues.

Why do you think that? I don't really support him, but he hasn't given me the impression he's going to do/say something stupid. And if he does, that doesn't necessarily mean his campaign is going to implode like Dean's did. Obama's essentially running as the "normal" guy, the one who isn't a stiff politician and people can relate to. It's entirely possible that a "mistake" like a yell will just endear him to the crowd.

Most politicians don't give clear answers, so I don't get why you single him out. Bush never gave clear answers, either. It's part of the game. You want to piss off as few people as possible, so not giving a decisive answer, and instead only hinting at what you'd do, is sadly the way to go to win these things, at least this early on, I'd say.

Romney and Guiliani have made rather stupid comments this past week. Are their campaigns ready to implode?

I'm not sure about Obama but he's been pretty consistent and hasn't changed positions like Romney or Guiliani. He's the newcomer and subject to more scruting than some of the others. We'll see if he can handle it.

Bush isn't the whole problem. A big part, yes. The whole thing, no.

America had flaws before Bush and will after - its about how they get fixed.

Yeah, I don't see the problem with Obama - I mean seriously, Giuliani is trying to hitch his wagon to the heroes of 9/11 and Romney was trying to sound like his sons were being patriotic by supporting his run...Obama's got a way to go before he tops that rubbish.

Corruption and too many professional politicians are the illnesses plaguing our country right now. Canning Bush would just be an antibiotic, but I'm afraid we all need rest and hydration to get us through.

Obama is a phoney. He's all style but has no substance or depth.

Do you ever back up anything you say with reasons or facts? Because you sound more scared of Obama than anything.

The man is all flashy. How much do really know about Obama? Things might be looking good for him right now but trust me, people are gonna dig and they will find bad stuff about him. It happens to everyone presidential candidate.
You think Bush is an idiot. I think Obama is a phoney. If you can think that the president is a big southern dummy then I believe I have the right to think that Obama is a fake. He also comes off as a tool. He doesn't seem like he is being himself.

Obama has yet to tell people what he's about. He hardly ever gives a definative answer on where he stands on the issues. I'm not scared of Obama either.

Summer, do you ever back up anything with facts? Like how about your ongoing personal crusade to make my time on here a living Hell? Get a hobby.

Can you give examples? Because I'm still unsure of your reasoning.

My reasoning is that the guy won't budge. He refuses to give clear definative answers on where he stands. His responses to questions are usually vague and unclear. He supports a troop withdrawal from Iraq yet he gives no timetable on when they come home. Obama might be the favorite right now but just wait until someone digs up something really bad about the guy. I wonder how he will respond when people start digging up dirt on him.

Obama is one of the Democratic Senators who has offered a timeline to redeploy the troops. I believe he wanted it accomplished in a year. Anyway it's on his site and it's more detailed than Bush's comments - we'll stay till the job is done, it's hard work and we're working hard and more of his other blather.

Also he's not the favorite - Clinton is now leading most polls. LOL..boy both of them are the Conservatives worst nightmare, no?

Unlike you posters, I'm not obessed with who will be the next president. Besides, I'm not going to cry myself to sleep everynight if a Democrat is elected president.

If people want to elect Hilary or Obama, then fine. I'm not gonna get all bent out of shape because of who the president is. I'm not like you guys.

Does Obama give an exact date in which the troops will come home? Yes or no?

More people like Obama than hate him. I can't say the same about Hilary. She has a lot of haters.
