Presidential Candidates 2008 Discussion, Part Four: Super Tuesday

California debates. Last night was the Republicans. Tonight it's the Dem's turn.

I thought McCain really blew a great oppurtunity to distance himself from Romney for good. The focus should have been on Romney's poor record in Mass. Instead he looked pathetic trying to spin Romney's stance on the war. As Paul said who cares! He & Huckabee could barely get a word in the entire time.

McCain looked ridiculous when he screwed up on Romney's Lieutenant Governor not supporting him when she actually did. Someone on his staff had the wrong information. He did have a chance to nail Romney on his bad record in MA but I think Romney was able to hold his own on that.

But I did laugh when McCain called Romney "my friend" while rebutting him. Dismissive and funny at the same time.

In the end though with all the support/endorsements McCain has received I think it will be too much for even Romney's endless bank account to overcome.

I agree, and I think it's wonderful that Caroline and Ted endorsed him. I believe it was Caroline who said that some people have remarked that Obama reminds them of JFK.

I think Caroline said something to the extent of, "Obama is getting people motivated the same way her father did."

Another reason why I don't want McCain as president.

Quote:
Arizona Sen. John McCain refused to apologize yesterday for his use of a racial slur to condemn the North Vietnamese prison guards who tortured and held him captive during the war.

"I hate the g****," McCain said yesterday in response to a question from reporters aboard his campaign bus. "I will hate them as long as I live."
McCain Criticized for Slur / He says he'll keep using term for ex-captors in Vietnam

Yuck...I don't like him for a lot of his views but should hurt him. I know the people who complain about political correctness will be ok with it but it's just calling people names.

Didn't he say that we could keep troops in Iraq for 100 years?

I like Mccain and all but I don't like how he twisted up what Mitt said. I also don't like that he used that Term that Tokyonights posted. I think though it stems from his Experiences in the NV pow camp. I think it's also why he's against the use of torture.

I really hope that the match up ends of being Mccain vs Obama. That way I feel I have 2 good yet different choices to choose from. Both men impress me for different reasons.

I think that's how it's going to end up. If that is the case, I'm hoping for a barack/clinton ticket. That would be AWESOME!!

I don't want a obama/clinton ticket. I hope he stays away from them. Plus he would hardly get to be VP with Bill waiting in the wings.

Kind of amusing I was watching Hannity and Colmes and Ann Coulter was on (who I already know has a deep hatred for Mccain) said if He is in fact the R Nom she will not only vote for Hillary and she will Champaign for her because she thinks she is more Conservative than Mccain is.
