President George W. Bush Discussion & Debate

Since so many threads have been turned into "is Bush a bad or a good guy" recently that shouldn't be about that, I figured we could use a place to... direct all of that so threads can actually stay on topic.

My stance: Bush is a good person, but a horrible president, and he'll go down in history as one of the worst, if not the worst, presidents in history.

I think he's a poor President and has made big mistakes. I profoundly disagree with most of his politics and I'm not a fan of his style.

As a man...obviously, I don't know him and I'm sure he's got good points (he's like to work out and read biographies), I just don't see him as the kind of man I would be particularly good friends with or would get along with.

I think he is the one of, if not the worst, presidents we have ever had. I don't agree with anything he stands for or his way of doing things.

So getting Saddam out of power was a mistake? Let me guess, Saddam is just a victim?

The title of this thread should be changed to "Let's Bash Bush". LOL

If Bush was such a horrible president then why did the man defeat the liberal media's golden boy John Kerry in 2004? Please explain that to me.

Like I have said many times on here, people don't like Bush because he will not let him do whatever the fudge they want to do. And he will not turn America into Amsterdam or Vegas like many people want.

People also don't like Bush because he is very vocal about his religion. They also don't like him cause he isn't from California or New York.

And about those precious approval ratings because I know you Bush haters love to talk about them. Bush's approval rating was around 90% after the days of 9/11. If Bush was such a horrible president then why did so many approve of him after such a tragedy?

Technically, it was a mistake as it violated international law. Whether or not Saddam Hussein's actions were right, Iraq still should've benefited from national sovereignty. Our invasion of Iraq and violation of the national sovereignty status of the country is one of the reasons most of our allies wouldn't aid us.

So you're bashing him? Huh.

Kerry was "too liberal." Bush's campaign made a mockery of him and Massachusetts, and spread lies about his military service that many were too uneducated to bother fact checking before blindly believing what was said.

Somehow I doubt you have any clue why most of us have a problem with Bush's presidency, especially if that's what you think our main concern is, lol.

...What? Jacob... name a single president who wasn't Christian (and Catholicism is included in Christianity, so JFK doesn't count). And Rudy Guiliani's from New York, but it doesn't make me want him as president, either.

New York presidents: Van Buren, Fillmore, Arthur, Cleveland, Theodore Roosevelt, Franklin Roosevelt

California presidents: Nixon, Reagan

I don't know how many times people need to point this out to you, but people liked how Bush handled 9/11. It was his blatant technique of using the tragedy to further his own agenda later on that people didn't like.

If you post on this thread, you should just straight up declare if you hate Bush or not.
My question to all the Bush haters what has Bush personally done to you?

I will admit that Bush has made a lot of mistakes and he could have handled Katrina and 9/11 better but he's the president and there's nothing you can really do about it except deal with it. Besides, you guys can have your party or orgy in January of 2009.

I think it's very convenient and a little pathetic that most candidates will run on the platform in 2008 of "I'm running because I want to clean up Bush's mistakes".

It's a thread to discuss Bush (and his mistakes) that you're welcome to post in. However, you don't have to post in it or read it, so the whining's a bit excessive. No one's forcing your hand here, Jacob.

Bush made a lot of mistakes that need to be cleaned up. In case you somehow failed to notice, the Republican candidates are consciously distancing themselves from Bush, too.

I have the right to post on here. If a woman has the right to abort her baby, then I have the right to post in this thread.
And if you prohibit me from posting on here just because you don't want to hear what I have to say then you're not allowing me my right to post.

Yeah, it is necessary. Come on now, you know that a lot of Bush haters are gonna go crazy on his last day in office.

Republican candidates are being chumps in my opinion and basically just looking out for themselves by distancing themselves from Bush. Strategic move.

It's not, but you'll learn over time that Jacob doesn't care much about what's necessary.

Although, seriously? Who plans to have an orgy over a new president coming into office? That's just weird.

No one's restricting your rights, Jacob. But you don't have to read or post in a thread you don't like, so you really don't need to be whining about it, either. And are you seriously comparing your right to post on a thread on FanForum to a woman's right to make decisions concerning her body?

Actually.. Jerry or one of the mods can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't necessarily think you have the "right" to post here, the more I think about it. I believe posting's a privilege since you activated your registration and signed up to post on a privately owned site.

Summer, you are basically telling me that you have more of a right than I do to post in this thread because you don't like Bush.

There are some sick people in America and around this world that probably will have orgies when Bush is out of office. Some people get off on weird things.

I'm just saying that many posters on here are obsessed with being able to do certain things because it's their right.
I should be allowed to post in this thread. If you guys can do it then I can do it. I thought this board was supposed to be about equality and tolerance.

No, Jacob. I'm telling you that you have every right to post, or to not post, so you have no excuse to whine.

Why are you so obsessed with making everything sexual? No one else is talking about sex or orgies, but it always seems to come up when you start in.

Gee Jacob, I wonder why a nation - shocked, scared, angry, sad, mourning, disturbed, upset - would want to rally round their President, the commander-in-chief?

Seriously.

And must you keep bringing orgies and orgams into debates about President Bush? What is the point?

Well, I'm not really being serious about the whole orgy thing and sexual things. I'm just saying that it wouldn't shock if some Bush haters got off on him leaving office in January 2009. That is how bad some people hate Bush.

This thread is pointless and just another way to bash the president. We all know where the posters stand on Bush. I'm basically the only person on the board that probably even voted for Bush on 2004. Therefore, there is bias and prejudice.
