I find it interesting that in terms of social issues and ethics I can be so liberal and with defense I'm so conservative but I suppose it stems from studying criminal justice and having fairly strong opinions about crime. More than I was by my results. For instance, on immigration policy, the dichotomy between stricter and looser (for a lack of a better term) is not at all how I would have framed my attitude. "Better" or "streamlined" would have been a more accurate depiction of my attitude. Given the choices, I went with the one that most closely resembled what I feel (that immigrants strenghten a nation) but that seriously doesn't reflect my position as I feel that there are glaring problems with the way things are handled. And I don't think rich people should pay more taxes because they can afford it. I think rich people should share a proportionate part of the tax burden, just like the rest of us. I understand the nature of these polls and I find them interesting.
