Pet Food Recall!!

If you have a pet make sure what you are feeding them isn't on the recall list.

Apparently its also affecting cats in the area that I am working in, causing at least one of them to be dying from kidney failure due to the food that it ate. Apparently one of the store's in town has been selling some contaminated pet food and a bunch of pets are really sick as a result; haven't heard it affecting the Vancouver area from where I am from.

I heard on CNN that cats are even more affected than dogs... Not sure why, though.

I'm so worried because my cats and my dog have eaten certain portions of this food in the past.

Go here: Menu Foods Income Fund - Annual General Meeting to find the FULL list of the products recalled including the dates the were sold, brand names, food description and even UPC stew numbers.

The site doesn't list the Mighty Dog products recalled for Mighty Dog recall go here: wwww.mightydog.comit states on the website that they are recalling only the pouches and not the cans.

I hope FF's family of pets stay well and are ok

It might have to do with the way they digest food or there's more contaminate in the cat foods than dog.

That is awful. Thankfully my cats don't eat any of the listed foods.

I hope everyone's pets are okay.

I was feeding my little cat various different cat foods b/c she wouldn't eat much of anything ... took her to the vet... never could figure out whats wrong with her when she pees, it looks like blood. She's just so tiny. thank god I never feed her any of the stuff that's been recalled. She looks like she's gaining a bit of weight now.

This is so, so, so wrong. Rat poison? Seriously? I can't imagine my boyfriend's two kittens (okay, one is a senior citizen cat) dying - I hate when people pretend like pets aren't important. It is not okay to be negligent with pet food.

some info for anyone who feed their cat or dog the recalled food before recall:

Some signs to look for is they are not eating, moping, not them selves, sore or very tired.

Not many outward signs, because they will bleed internally. Take your pet to the vet to just make sure, they can drawl blood to check for anything wrong. It is treatable if caught early. Also another way to get your cat or dog to eat is to buy baby food and heat it up. I was told this by a customer who's cat was infected and was not eating, but now is. She is doing better.

This what i have learned from customers and around the internet. I hope that has helped.

Yes, some of the dry food has been recalled, but I think it applies to cat food only. You can read more at the link below.

Recall expanded to some dry cat food - Yahoo! News
