I never even knew he was ill. But he was an icon I loved him in Dirty Dancing. R.I.P.

Gosh, I knew this was coming. I mean cancer is like the silent killer these days. What a terrible thing to happen to such a talented guy. My prayers go out to Patrick Swayze and his family.

Very sad. He fought it to the very end. I was a fan of his acting in Ghost and Point Break. My prayers go out to his family and loved ones. RIP Patrick Swayze.

What the hell has been going on these last few months?! I don't recall ever seeing so many stars dying within a 3 month period before.

I just read. I'm shocked. I knew he was ill, and that pancreatic cancer is one of the worst, but I thought he was doing okay. May he rest in peace.

With pancreatic cancer, the odds were stacked pretty heavily against him. But we couldn't help but hope he'd be the one to beat it.

My thoughts are with his wife and loved ones.

I loved him in "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost".

Even though we kind of knew this was going to happen (but still hoped maybe he would pull though), it is still sad. May he R.I.P. and my prayers are with his friends and family.

So sad, I gotta dig out Dirty Dancing now.

My mom is 57. Too young to die.

I was so sorry to hear this news. He was a very talented actor and dancer, and he seemed to be a genuinely nice person. I remember seeing him for the first time in the Television Series North and South, and he was fanatastic in it, and I loved him in Dirty Dancing and Ghost. May he rest in peace.
