That's so cool. I always wondered if your name had something to do with the band! And yeah they're not popular, but yes I do like them. Have you checked their new EP Lolita?! It's GOOD!

Oh and I never thought someone like you would be into indie-rock/pop.... but that's awesome.

Devon ~ Oh man, how much would that rule?! He's such a hottie too! My cousin is totally obsessed with him (he plays soccer as well). But yeah.. I love Del Piero. And I loved how he saved Italy's @ss on the World Cup. Too bad they didn't make it too far though.. but oh well, they best win on 2006!!!!!!

How did you get to them? Yeah, I bought the EP on their first show back together (it was non-official show), at pounders in renton back in mid sept. Then they played endfest, missed that, but I caught them at Neumo's and the croc.

Lolita is really good

I am just full of suprises, besides..I live in seattle..its almost a given that I would like local music. Looks like Seattle is becoming the in thing again (Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie etc)

I'm pretty liberal when it comes to politics. I want Obama to run again Giuliani for '08 and we all know Giuliani's a shoe-in. Either Obama or Clinton and we all also know who was REALLY running the Clinton administration. *hint hint nudge nudge* Also I'd like to say that I feel gay marriage should be allowed. My girlfriend said that if I didn't state that openly she'd bite my head off.

I'm a 19 year old male.

I'm Canadian, however, I went to High School in Belgium, am studying at Princeton, and my parents are currently posted to Paris (where I happen to be at the moment, rapping up a goodly Christmas vacation - not an army brat, but rather a foreign service one). At Princeton I'm a Woody Woo reject in the making (bonus points to anyone who can ID that) - and will probably end up in Politics or History.

I'm something of a social libertarian. I see no reason for the government to infringe on any citizen's life unless my way of living causes direct material harm to another member of society. This does tend to make me rather socially liberal.

However, fiscally it gets more complicated. I do believe that a state needs to have a safety net for the people, particularly in the realm of healthcare. That said, I believe that having slightly less government interference in business - and having no tariffs or subsidies - will ultimately help a nation. Finally, there's the issue of outsourcing, which is overhyped and doesn't take into account many of the very beneficial aspects of the trend.

I'm also something of a devout Anglican.

And because I think summaries are always useful - and, well, because I, like many others here, like to hear myself talk (yes, I do read these posts in my head while I type them) - here's a quick reference summary.

I support:
Universal health care
Abortion in the first trimester
Initial military action in Iraq
Moderates from both American Parties
The Liberal Party of Canada
Gun control on assault weapons and handguns
Workfare
Greater interaction with the UN
Freedom of Speech
Life, Liberty, and Property.
Environmental movements
Civil Unions

I oppose
Tariffs and subsidies
Extreme environmentalists
Micheal Moore, Ann Coulter, and all other extreme demagogues from either side
Partial Birth Abortion
Capital punishment
Creationists
Gay Marriage/Ordained Clergy (pending further Theological examination and study)

************************************

And because I hate ending on a negative tone:

I like steaks, warhammer, anime, video games, football, bad action movies, and long walks on the beach... er... well, not so much the walking.

I used to post on FF back in the late 90s. I left for a while because other stuff came up, but I might be around more often.

Jerry and I are old friends too.

The board looks great!

Nope, I got you beat! I'm 47. Yes, I'm old, but I love posting here, and I love discussing news and politics. Hello all, and I think I might snatch ideas composition-wise from all of you when writing this little info thing...

Name: Anna
Age: 17, born in 1987
Location: Finland [in the south-east, close to Russia! ]
Faith: Protestant, but not very religious

Well, that settled - I am pretty passionate/opinionated about issues like

-- minority rights. Belong to a lingual minority myself, and hate and love a lot about that.
-- women's rights. Recently started reading feminist literature, and let's say, I've found my home, heh... I'm not radical in any way, I just think it's plain obvious what needs to be done in this area.
-- war=never justified. So you can guess whom I would have voted for in the US election, I guess... I can't stand Bush's politics, but I like a lot other things about America, though.
-- opposing fundamentalism. I have no problem with people being believers and having strong faiths, but don't try to convert me against my will, thanks.
-- mental health care. I have seen my fair share of shrinks in my lifetime, thanks - and I get furious at ignorance about psychological problems. No, I don't bite Yet....

Yeah. I love history, to write, anything artistic, hate science (and suck at it), speak/understands 4-5 languages.

I think that's about it
