Well, whatever happened and whatever happens from here on out... he's a man of a certain age. Regardless of how fit and healthy he is (as it seems pretty clear that he is), any recovery is bound to take some time, no?

I read about his injury too. What's even sadder is now he's come out and stated that he's getting a divorced after 20 years of marriage. What's to divorce over after being together that long?! Well, I hope he gets better soon because after that he's going to have a long divorce battle to deal with.

Well, they apparently separated as far back as December 2007, so there's always a chance that it could be an amicable break-up.

Well, a few weeks ago he was asked about the divorce rumors and he adamantly denied it. It seemed like they were still together.

He did say that not too long ago. So, who knows, but I was going by a statement from his business partner given:

From my own parents' separation, I do know that some couples elect to separate legally before they divorce. I don't know what the laws are in the United States, let alone if they change from state to state, but I do know that my parents separated legally at least a year before they pursued a divorce so as to make the divorce proceedings little more than a formality.

So, obviously I know nothing of what is going in this case or how different laws might come into play, but it seems to me that there's at least a possibility that whatever reasons were behind their split, there is still a chance that they are trying to make the proceedings themselves as amicable and painless as possible.
