One more reason why Bush has to go...he spoke at an annual dinner last night sponsored by journalists, media, etc.

Here's the link -
http://www.thenation.com/capitalgame...bid=3&pid=1336

Go down to the third paragraph and he makes a joke about trying to find the WMD in Iraq. And then he makes a second and third one.

How would the parents, spouse, children, siblings of a dead American soldier feel about that kind of humor? How about the thousands of Iraqis killed? He took the country to war about these WMD and now it's a big ha-ha that none have been found.

Can you imagine the Republican response if a Democrat pulled a stunt like that?

that's really sick. at least have the respect for the hundreds of innocent people you have had killed or have been killed on your watch. that's definately another reason why we really need to get him out of office. really, how could people laugh at something like that? but you know, it really wouldn't surprise me if there were WMDs in the Oval Office.

Bush is a sick bastard. He has his cosy life and makes choices that put thousands of lives in jeopardy and he makes fun of it?

I've seen the family of a US soldier killed in Iraq that said on TV that Bush probably wept more for his dog that had died two weeks ago than for their son and all his compatriots who lost their lives in an unjustified war.

ros2nz - is that the tracking poll link? I see what you mean...most think Bush does a better job with terrorists although I don't agree.

As much as terrorists and the Iraq War are discussed here..I think the election is going to be decided on the US economy and people getting affordable healthcare. LOL I sound like a pollster myself but barring another terrorist attack on US soil most Americans are not happy with how Bush has handled domestic issues.

There was another poll this week (Gallup I think) in which most Americans were not happy with the direction the country is going in. That's a good sign for the Democrats and not so for Bush & Co.

Anyway I have hope the Kerry can pull it off even though he wasn't my first choice. If only for the fact that he'll appoint pro-choice judges to the Supreme Court among other things.

I found this blog via dailykos.com. The writer is 24 years old and living in Baghdad although she spent part of her life in England studying.

To me it's more of a realistic view of what's going on and the thoughts and fears that she has living in Baghdad. Her post of today where she talks about feeling uncomfortable walking around in western clothes is a little disconcerting after everything we've been hearing lately.

Here's the link:

Huge sweep for the leftists in France in the regional elections : the left-wing won the elections in 20 regions out of 22

Actually it's a tie in one of the two last regions, which means that there's a slight chance that we'll win 21 regions out of 22!

Just so you all hear it from me first, I'm one of those evil, traitorous liberals that Ann Coulter talks about all the time. I advocate equality for all, fairness in economics and politics, the right of the invididual to be his or her own master, and an activist, altruistic, socialistic government. I'm ready to go to Guantanamo Bay
