John Edwards and Obama/Hilary in 2008!?

From what I hear John Edwards has 2 focuses in the next couple of years....
1. Making sure his wife gets healthy.
2. Planning his run for the presidency.

How does everyone feel about this? Do you think he is qualified for the job? Do you like him and his ideals? Would you like to see him pick up Obama or Hilary on his ticket?

I for one really like John Edwards and hope he makes a run at it. I think he has a good possibility of getting votes (the last 2 powerful dem. presidents were both southern boys) and he has the drive and ambition. I would love to see Hilary and Obama get a chance as well because I want them both to be President sometime in the future but I think if they wait patiently their time will come.

Any thoughts?

Oh I would definitely love to see John Edwards run for President. I just really, really like that man. Something about him that makes you optimistic too when you hear him talk, lol.

I'd much rather see Edwards than Hilary. I have no respect for a woman that stayed married to her husband for political reasons even after he screwed around on her. Any woman that does that demeans themselves in my eyes and is basically telling the man that it's okay to do that. I'd support Edward's run though, depending on the Republican candidate.

I don't think either Edwards or Hilary Clinton has a shot to win the presidency. The Republicans will continually hammer home the fact that Edwards was a personal inury attorney that won millions of dollars for his clients and drove up health care costs. They will repeat it over and over again. He's also seen as a pretty boy that is inexperienced and shouldn't be in politics. It won't work.

Hilary will suffer from the same fate John Kerry did. Liberal from the northeast. Stayed married to husband after he cheated on her.

I think the dem nominee has to be someone other than those two.

I agree but the ironic thing is most women stay married to their husbands after they are caught cheating. And these are women who husbands are not political figures. Only a few divorce their cheating husbands. I know that would hurt her chance for winning but I think it would be unfair for women not to vote for her for that reason when they would more than likely do the same thing.

I would definitely vote for him.

Although for the arugment that Hilary stated with Bill after he cheated on her could actually help. It could be argued that she wasn't willing to give up on her sacred marriage vows because of her beliefs or some other crap like that. Everything can be spun to make things look better.

Gotta love double standards.

No way is the US ready for a black or women President. Every Democratic President since JFK (Johnson, Carter, Clinton) have been from the South, so I think it may be time for a Southerner again. Don't think Edwards will be the one, though, as he failed to carry anything for Kerry, but who it'll be is still unclear at the moment.

Tom Vilsack from Iowa or Evan Bayh from Indiana may be good candidates.

And what would be wrong with a woman President?

Nothing's wrong.

But in a country where the majority is against gay marriage, do you really think they'd be progressive enough to vote for a woman president?

I really don't think she'd have any chance to be elected?

Nothing is wrong but America isn't ready for one. We are long overdue though compared to other western countries.

Look at the reaction to Teresa Kerry saying shove it to a reporter and compare that to Cheney saying ******* off to Leahy.

The overreaction to THK and the acceptance of Cheney's comment by Republican leaders and their supporters.

Realistically I think we could have a Hispanic as VP before Obama.

I don't hate Bill Clinton.

Anyway, I think Bayh would be a good candidate. Just my opinion though.
