How would you punish Osama Bin Laden?

No bashing I only want serious input from people. If your going to bash, then I don't want you here.

If Bin Laden were to be caught in the near future and you were in charge what would be his punishment?

Kill him.

(aka Capital Punishment; Death Sentence; Firing Squad).

He comitted an act of war against the United States, therefore, he is categorized as a hostile combatant under the USMCJ.

While that would make him a martyr, it would still be a blow to Al Queda's moral (and take time for them to reorganize) and that is all it takes to defeat an enemy sometimes.

I would then have the Justice Department (CIA; FBI; NSA) freeze all of the Saudi Royal Family's assets (and they have billions sunk into the U.S.), take over the Saudi Embassy in Washington, and expel them from the country.

Continuing to do business with a country that actually IS responsible for harboring and financing a terrorist... UNLIKE Iraq... Sends the wrong message and while severing ties would send ripples through the international world, it would be a more consistent and LOGICAL approach to the terrorist threat and Osama Bin Laden than what Bush did (or didn't do because of the Bush/Saudi connection) in my opinion.

Capture him. Bring him to the States.

Then force a sex change operation on him. Send him back to Afghanistan.

Make him live in the Middle East under Islam law as a woman.

Put him a a small room with the pictures of the people that died in 9/11 plastered on the walls. Make him sit in the room with no windows not even a bed. Lock the door and throw away the damn key.

That wouldn't hurt him because he don't care.

I think we should make sure he lives a very long life and torture him little by little. Def not death because that would be want he wants.

Don't turn him into a martyr, that's exactly what he wants. Instead toss him into prison and never let him out. Don't do anything horrible to him. Just put him in ultra-max with a lonely roommate named Bubba.

I think capturing him and putting him in secret isolation would drive him crazy. Nobody would see him, he couldn't become a martyr.

Exactly. Deny him every bit of attention that he would want.

Lock him in a windowless cell with a TV that plays nothing but Bush speeches 24 hours a day for the rest of his life.

That'd be like watching the comedy channel for 24 hours.

But really. It'd be torture for anyone.

Before the Bush supporters start attacking me, I'm jusssst kidding! Heh.

[Well, I'm pro-Kerry but I didn't say the statement to be mean.]

Losing family members and good friends on 9-11, I agree with J@NeY. It may not do much, but, I don't know. It would certainly do something. And I don't want him killed. That's the easy way out and it's exactly what he wants. It would martyr him and I refuse to let someone who took away the lives of my loved ones to be a hero. But I think that something, anything to make him just live with what he did would be fine. Lock him in a room. One small window for ventilation. With bars. And just make him sit there. Sit for the rest of his life.

Put him in solitary confinement for life, with no books, tv, exercise room or company. With someone slipping his meals under the door. That's much worse than death.
