The ramifications will be awful, especially for the Palestinians.

I agree. This will lead to more deaths and the Palestinians will be blamed for everything.

There is plenty of blame to go around on all-sides of this matter.

Someone needs to give all of them a major time out. Honestly.

As much as people like to talk as if it is - life isn't just a grown up version of kindergarten.

People moaning about ramifications - what kind of ramifications do you mean? What do you think will happen because of this?

Yeah, this is going to have consequences. The Palestinians have said they are going to retaliate against the U.S. for this because we enabled Israel.

What I was a little iffy about was the fact that they shot this guy with a rocket. Why do you need to shoot a missile to kill a person? There is just a greater chance that innocent people will be killed.

So that makes killing more innocent people okay?

How did the Americans 'enable' Israel to do this? Didn't they not even know about it in advance? I'm fairly sure I saw a quote from Condi Rice to that effect.
Then again, I'm not looking for logic from PA statements. So, to respond to that:
AP said that this is a new thing from Hamas, right? They're wrong. In March 2003, Yassin himself said that if Iraq is conquered, "the Islamic nation" should attack Western interests anywhere. http://memri.org/bin/articles.cgi?Pa...=sd&ID=SP47903 And, more recently, check here: http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/402530.html
I'm pretty sure Hamas has, or is developing, connections to global Islamist terrorism.

Yeah, but killing a terrorist leader is preventing the deaths of a bunch more innocent people. As for why they used a missile, I'm not privy to the inner workings of the IDF but I'm sure it wasn't an arbitrary decision. Maybe they could be more sure of getting him like that? Anyways, I don't think any civilians were killed. Were there any?

The Palestinians are going to blame the United States for this, because, well..we did enable it. We give Israel about 5 billion a year. We finance their weaponry. The Palestinians see that the guns/weapons that are killing them read "Made in USA."

Quite frankly, if I were a Palestinian, I'd blame the US too.

And there have already been many deaths resulting from the murder of Yassin, according to what I read earlier.

On this topic, I'm going to say my peace and depart; I will not respond to any replies to this post...so you know.

The American government enabled Israel; the Palestinian and Israeli people have a legit grudge against the U.S. for what it has done to facilitate and covertly promote the continual violence that plagues that region.

Anyone who disagrees, who maintains that the United States had no (or only a small) responsibility for the attack and the ongoing Middle East conflict, does not understand the way the world works. Period.

Capitalism, literally, kills. Without destruction, truly successful capitalism cannot exist.
