| Freedom This is mostly directed to catholic/christian conservatives... Ok.. I've heard a lot of Republicans on this board say that they support the war in Iraq only because they'd do anything to "spread freedom". Which of course is just a bunch of bull to me.. but anyhoo... I find it sorta contradicting how those exact same people think that way about the war.. but when it comes to equal rights/freedom in their own country.. they seem to be against it [ie, being against gay marriage]. So do you like Freedom? I'm sure you do. Who doesn't, right? Well, now I'm wondering.... what if one day your president in the US was a muslim... and he was going to turn his beliefs into laws.. how would you feel? What if it would be illegal for every girl to go out without those things to cover their heads with? How would you feel? Would you feel as if he was forcing his views on you and that he wasn't giving you the freedom that you as a citizen deserve? Would you feel as if he was telling you to live your life the way he wants you to? And most importantly, would you be happy living your life how someone else wants you to live it? I doubt it. So really, think about that... because it's the exact same thing as the whole homosexual marriages issue. You're forcing your beliefs into people who don't believe in the same things you do and it's absolutely absurd. Why can't you just live your life how you want to and let others live their lives how THEY want to? Why do you want to take away their freedom? Why the hell can't you keep your beliefs to yourself? I just really don't understand all of this. And it hurts knowing that fellow Christians are this way because that's NOT what Christianity stands for. And another poster here goes saying that we can find which religion is the true one. Yeah... right.. we believe in the same religion [supposedly] and we don't even agree on what that alone stands for. Can't even imagine everyone agreeing on one religion all together. But whatever. __________________ + Eda + | |||

| Ok, i know it's our responsibility to defend the world from cruel dictators and communism, but why? I mean really. I'm all for going in and knocking Saddam's ass out, but ya know what, why the hell should we be the ones to do it? I can understand about the "spreading freedom" but you know, you have to play with the cards you're dealt. You can be female, born in one of those messed up cultures were a woman is looked down upon, chastized for everything, hiding there faces, or even aborted if you're not male, but why the hell is it the USoA's job to regulate the world? There is enough shht in this country that needs to be taken care of before butting in on other countries cookies. Our mighty empire is very new in the eyes of empires in history, we aren't in the position to govern all. We need to just leave everyone alone before a real war pops off, in which case we will get our ass handed to us. __________________ "Talk hard, I like that.
