My concern is that she get away from him.
No way. They're way too busy making duets together and hanging out at Puff Daddy's house. With each growing day, I'm beginning to have zero sympathy for this girl. She didn't ask for it but now tons of young girls who look up to Rihanna will think "Oh, so I should stay with my abuser because I think things can get better." Way to go.

Yeah, but she's a young girl first. The role model thing... she doesn't control that. She obviously should get away from this guy, but it's like anything else. She has to do it for herself, otherwise it'll never stick.

Besides, the kind of head space she has to be in to be able to stay with that guy? I think she needs help, not judgment.

Natasha Richardson Flown To New York; Family To Release Statement

NEW YORK, NY -- Natasha Richardson has been flown to New York following her skiing accident in Montreal, Canada, the NY Daily News reported.

Richardson, the wife of “Taken” star Liam Neeson and daughter of Vanessa Redgrave, was reportedly flown home earlier today.

The couple have an apartment in NYC.

She reportedly left the Sacre-Coeur Hospital in Montreal on Tuesday and left the country at 12:30 PM local time, Josee-Michelle Simard, a hospital spokesperson, told the paper.

Her family is expected to release a statement on Wednesday, a spokesperson for the same hospital told Canada’s CBC.

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Richardson was involved in a skiing accident on Monday at Station Mont Tremblant near Montreal while the 45-year-old Tony-winning star was taking a lesson.

“Natasha Richardson fell in a beginners trail while taking a ski lesson at Station Mont Tremblant,” a rep for the ski resort said in a statement released to Access.

“She was accompanied by an experienced ski instructor who immediately called the ski patrol. She did not show any visible sign of injury but the ski patrol followed strict procedures and brought her back to the bottom of the slope and insisted she should see a doctor,” the statement continued.

“As an additional precautionary measure, the ski instructor as well as the ski patrol accompanied Mrs. Richardson to her hotel. They again recommended she should be seen by a doctor. The ski instructor stayed with her at her hotel. Approximately an hour after the incident Mrs. Richardson was not feeling good. An ambulance was called and Mrs. Richardson was brought to the Centre Hospitalier Laurentien in Ste-Agathe and was later transferred to Hôpital du Sacre-Coeur.”

A rep for the ski resort told People, “She was laughing and joking and she walked to her room on her own” following her fall.

According to the resort rep, Richardson did not hit anyone or anything during the incident.

It is currently unknown what condition Richardson is in following the incident. Several Web sites including the New York Post and Time Out New York, have reported that the actress and Broadway legend is brain dead.

A rep for the film “Chloe,” which Richardson’s husband, Liam Neeson, has been filming in Toronto, confirmed to Canadian Television that the Irish actor left the set to be with his wife.

“Liam Neeson left the Toronto set immediately to fly to Montreal upon news of his wife’s accident,” the rep said in a statement to CTV. “We do not have any details at this time but we hope for the best and our thoughts and prayers are with Natasha and Liam and their family.”

Neeson and Richardson wed in 1994. The couple has two sons — Richard Antonio, 13, and Daniel Jack, 12.

IrishCentral.com first reported news of Richardson’s accident.

Being from Montreal, this was clearly well in my mind today. It was all over the news and it was rather troubling how some sources had her brain dead, others had her completely dead and then, finally, we have this news of being flown home. It's rather disturbing to be faced like that with the supreme inadequacies of the media covering these things.

I'm always uncomfortable ready celebrity gossip, because I was the subject of much gossip in high school and I didn't like it one bit. So I am extremely uncomfortable being on the other side of that thing.

So we know celebrity reporting isn't the best kind of journalism out there. But when it comes to serious things, such as the life and death of a well-known and well-liked woman, you would think news outlets would be a little less concerned with being the first one out there with the scoop and take a little more time to make sure they have their facts straight, even when those facts may not be in overabundance.

I know what you mean over the conflicting reports on this story, Sunny. My MSN homepage is reporting Natasha Richardson has having passed away. But other reports are going with brain dead instead. It's hard to know which outlet to believe on something that clearly should not be treated as a trivial issue.

Regardless, this news is very sad.

No sadly it's true she has died

Natasha Richardson Dies at 45

Natasha Richardson, a revered theater actress and member of the famed Redgrave family, has died after suffering a head injury from a skiing accident. She was 45.

She passed away Wednesday at New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital.

"Liam Neeson, his sons, and the entire family are shocked and devastated by the tragic death of their beloved Natasha," Neeson's rep tells Usmagazine.com in a statement. "They are profoundly grateful for the support, love and prayers of everyone, and ask for privacy during this very difficult time.”

Richardson fell during a private lesson on a beginners trail Monday at the Mont Tremblant ski resort near Montreal.

See touching photos of Natasha through the years.

The British-born actress, who was not wearing a helmet, seemed fine at first: She had no visible injuries and was even laughing and joking after the accident, a resort rep told Usmagazine.com.

About an hour later, she complained of a headache and was taken to the Centre Hospitalier Laurentien in Ste-Agathe. She was later transferred to Hopital du Sacre-Coeur in Montreal. Neeson, who was in Toronto shooting a movie, rushed to her side.

Richardson was held overnight and released Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. Along with Neeson, she flew, via private jet, to New York City, where she was hospitalized at Lenox Hill Hospital.

On Tuesday evening, her family gathered at her bedside to bid their farewells.

Her mother, actress Vanessa Redgrave, was seen with her head wrapped in a scarf, along with Natasha's sister, Nip/Tuck star Joely Richardson, and grandmother Daisy followed. Her aunt, actress Lynn Redgrave, also was spotted entering the hospital.

Natasha's two sons, Micheal, 13, and Daniel, 12 -- who were present Tuesday -- returned Wednesday afternoon. Legendary actress Lauren Bacall was also photographed on the hospital grounds.

Check out the day's top news photos.

Despite her dire condition Wednesday (multiple news organizations had reported she was brain dead), her family members remained optimistic.

"I feel sick to the pit of my stomach. I just hope she is going to be OK," a relative, who did not wish to be identified, told Us. "We're a strong family, and Natasha is part of that family. We're good at putting up a fight."

Richardson, the elder daughter of late director Tony Richardson, was a revered theater actress, having trained at London's Central School of Speech and Drama.

She appeared in a number of productions in London's West End and Broadway. In 1998, she won a Tony for her role as Sally Bowles in a revival of Cabaret. This past January, she and her mother played the roles of mother and daughter in a one-night benefit of the Stephen Sondheim Hugh Wheeler musical A Little Night Music.

Richardson also had an extensive film career, appearing The Parent Trap, Maid in Manhattan and Nell, where she met Neeson. The two wed in 1994.

Asked for her secret to a happy marriage, Richardson told Us last March, "I wish I could tell you I have it all figured out. You've got to keep working at it. You need a sense of humor and to be able to ride the waves."

She will be remembered in her Upper West Side NYC neighborhood.

"Everybody loved her. She had an incredible sense of style and energy," a neighbor told Us Tuesday night. "She filled up the room every time she walked in."
Oh my gosh. She was so young, and she leaves Liam with two sons. Oh my gosh. My heart goes out to the family.

This is really standard behavior, though. Most women stay with their abusers. They convince themselves that the man really loves them, that his behavior will change, and that he won't hit her again. It's pathetic, but it's true, and to be honest, I'm glad this happened. Maybe it will finally become a topic that can be discussed, the fact that some women are idiots to stay with the men that abused them because, more than likely, it will happen again.

On Rihanna: I know it's standard behaviour. That's why I don't think it's good, but I also can't judge her for the example she's setting. She can't be thinking about that when this is her life, too. Mind you, I've heard that they're now "taking a break." Whatever that means. It could be progress.

On Natasha Richardson's passing: It would be beyond trite for me to start going on about the tragedy of it all when, clearly, her husband, her sons and her family and friends are the ones who feel the full weight of it.

Having said that, I am disgusted with the piss-poor job the journalistic profession made on reporting this story. The sheer ravenous nature of the way people went about trying to get the scoop on a woman's demise, flouting veracity and any shred of human decency in the process, is appalling. They had the gall to stalk the Neesons' appartment to get footage of the poor man coming back from his wife's death bed!!!! Disgusting.

I heard about Natasha Richardson. I can't believe it. How sad.

The wort part of the whole Rihanna/Chris Brown case is that he isn't getting one drop of jail time. Whether Rihanna admitted that she hit him first, it doesn't matter. He was truly an animal towards her.

Well, his trial hasn't happened yet.

I agree, though, I doubt he'll see serious prison time, and that's shameful.

'Guiding Light' Canceled After 72 Years

'Guiding Light' Canceled After 72 Years

NEW YORK (CNN) -- "Guiding Light" will go dark in September after 72 years and 16,000 episodes, CBS announced Wednesday.

The daytime soap opera's declining viewership led to the decision, according to a CBS spokeswoman.

The show, which the Guinness Book of World Records lists as the longest-running television drama, first aired on NBC radio in 1937 as a 15-minute serial, the spokeswoman said. It moved to television on the CBS network in 1952.

The last episode is set to air on September 18, she said.

The show is produced in New York.

I know that soaps are old hat. But, well, I did learn English watching them (though not this particular one, mind you). And, besides, after 72 years? That's gotta hurt.

Wow. 72 years! That is a long time for a show to be on the air.

AdriaMichelle Congrats!

Me, I'm kinda dumbstruck at the decision to cancel Guiding Light. Well, dumbstruck and not surprised. The networks have been crapping on soaps for years now. Like I said, I learned English in large part watching soaps. Twenty years ago, when that happened, soaps were lame, but at least you had the feeling that they valued their viewers.

I watched soaps for a long time and, as time went by, I noticed a really annoying tendency to yank viewers around like the time they spent daily watching the shows in question wasn't investment enough for the PTBs. And it's a pattern I saw in a lot of shows, across the three networks airing soaps.

So I am dumbstruck and not surprised at the same time, if that makes any sense.
