Edwards Admits Affair

ABC News: Edwards Admits to Sexual Affair; Lied as Presidential Candidate

I really feel bad for his wife. Having Cancer and now this? My heart breaks for her. I'm very disappointed in John Edwards.

Well that sucks to put it mildly. Do I still like his policies? Yes but disappointed doesn't begin to describe what I think of him.

It's too bad because his wife has always been such a class act.

I can't believe this. My respect for him just went down. I think him having an affair is worse than Gov. Spitzer (sp?) cause Elizabeth is fighting cancer. That is just low folks!

This is no different from when Guilliani and McCain when they cheated on their wives. I think the wives from both affairs were suffering through an illness too. However, they're still loved and it seems that most people have forgiven them easily. I feel bad for his wife but she has forgiven him and I admire her for that. I'm sure we've all made mistakes that we're paying for.

We all make mistakes that's true and cheating in general is wrong. But cheating on your wife who is battling Breast Cancer is pretty low.

It's bad but the media is pouncing on this like rabid dogs. I know it's newsworthy and the situation with his wife makes it more heartless. But when Guiliani was running for President nobody questioned him about his very public affairs and McCain is an admitted adulterer with his current wife.

It's going to be news but the media is going a bit overboard on this.

Well, she clearly found a way to forgive him. So I'm gonna honour her and do the same.

I don't really care about it. He isn't running anymore and he doesn't hold an elected office.

It's between him and his wife.

Another sleazy and hypocritical politician. What a surprise! I read his wife's statement, though and she's a class act and a courageous woman.

I really liked him and I'm so disappointed now. What a terrible thing to do.

I can't say that I'm all that shocked myself. Don't most politicians have affairs?

This doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Fits perfectly with my impression of him.

I'm a bit relieved he isn't running for the presidential election. Then it would be a definite landslide for McCain. We don't need another election like that again.

Now there's question regarding whether or not the child may be his. I guess Maury is calling the woman for a possible paternity test show.

OK...well Maury is on top of this so we'll find out soon!

It was an incredible lack of judgement and screw up on Edward's part but he's not running for President and quite frankly he never will again. Even if this had never happened he was pretty much done in terms of national elective office.
