Jet misery as drunk lout belts out YMCA song at 30,000ft

A BOOZED-up idiot swore and bellowed out Village People song YMCA at 30,000ft on a holiday jet.

Dennis Hargreaves brought misery to other passengers with his antics as his embarrassed family looked on helplessly.

The 35-year-old, who had drunk five pints of lager and swigged vodka, also abused cabin crew and ignored their pleas to behave.

He even jabbed his finger in one startled woman attendant's face and snarled: "You are *********g embarrassing me."

Hargreave's wife burst into tears and had to comfort the couple's three children as their dad screeched out 70s hit YMCA, complete with arm movements, on the eight-hour flight from Florida to Manchester.

Prosecutor Jane Dagnall told Manchester crown court: "There was a lot of shouting and singing. He drank to excess." Hargreaves was arrested at the airport.


Ivan Cartwright, defending, said: "He makes no excuses for his loutish, idiotic behaviour."


Judge Mr Recorder Brian Cummings told Hargreaves, from Huyton, Liverpool: "You were totally selfish and obnoxious."


The joiner admitted being drunk on an aircraft and got 100 hours' community service.

That's pretty funny....although I dont think I would think so if I had been stuck on a plane with him for 8 hours!

I'm surprised he was even allowed to board if he had that much to drink! I would have thought it'd be obvious he was hammered!

Umm I probably would have pissed myself laughing.

I mean if I was his wife, probably not, but I don't know drunk people are pretty freaking funny.
