Democrat/Liberal/Progressive/Left/Green Discussion Thread

Post away.

I hope Senator Clinton is better - when they said she'd collapsed on the news, I feared the worst.

Thanks Lexis for starting the thread.

I heard that Hillary Clinton had a stomach virus and should be ok.

Just wanted to post that this is a haven thread. No one should feel that they have to defend their views in here. It's for ranting, whining, screaming, laughing, crying, etc.

After the deaths of Mel Carnahan and Paul Wellstone, none of the Democratic Senators should be boarding any small planes.

ITA. I would really like to see more people brought to justice.

I hope Clinton is feeling better. I think she should have just pulled out of the speech but didn't want to disappoint anyone.

I actually brought her biography for my mum for her birthday - I thought I could read it after her. Hehe. Although I did notice that there was an 'Answer' book next to it, called Rewriting History and basically discredits her biography.

Well it looks like Dean is getting to winning the DNC head. I do think it's good and I think it will be a surprise to those who are saying ''he's liberal, he's from the Northeast, Ohhhhhh Noooooooo.. the Democrats are doomed."

Just painting him that way because of his stance on the Iraq War is dead wrong. Dean will fight back against the Republicans and won't roll over and play dead for them. He has the ability to get people involved in the Democratic Party for the first time and he's not afraid to go to the South and challenge them on why they vote Republican. Dean was and is the most honest, no b.s. politician that I've ever seen. A year ago he was dead because of the media's over the top reaction to his 'scream' and now look where he is.

I just wonder when I hear Republicans telling Democrats that Dean is a poor choice..heehee..they probably think Lieberman could do the job.

The reasons you pointed out are the reasons Republicans are saying he's a bad choice. Unlike someone like Libeerman, Dean isn't afraid to stand up and speak his mind even if it might not be whats popular the time. He's got the ability to rally Democrats moreso than most others so he'll be good for Dems, and bad for Republicans who'd much prefer having someone that can just walk over again. Dean is basically what Democrats need right now and that's someone that's excited about what he's about to be doing. And if that means more high pitched yells, then more power to him.

People believe everything Fox News tells them, I swear. I still want to hear examples of how he's so "liberal". They really should shut Fox News down with all the lies and propaganda they spew out.

I think Dean is a great choice. Being DNC char is much different from running for president. You barely hear about the RNC chair, Ken Mehlman. For a position as behind the scenes as DNC chairman, it's getting a lot of press coverage. Dean is kind of a political rock star.

Some examples of the crap that gets published in New Hampshire's largest newspaper:

Democrats Gamble with their Future

Condoleeza Rice and Racial Politics

I have never seen such a right-wing partisan newspaper than we have here in New Hampshire. It's a miracle that John Kerry and John Lynch were able to win here with the Union Leader devoting their pages to being anti-Democrat.

To be fair I think some Democrats aren't and won't be too thrilled with him as the head of the DNC. Paul Begala and James Carville were very derogatory of him during the primary season. There's a power play in there somewhere I'm sure.

I think he'll be good and I'm not sure why Republicans think they need to advise the Democrats on their choice other than to spin the perception of Dean. Do Democrats comment on the head of the RNC?

Anyway if that traitor, Bob Novak, doesn't think Dean is a good choice and even feels the need to write about him my guess is that some people are worried somewhere about what Dean could do for the party.
