| Cuba after Castro Many wonder: What will happen after the death of the "maximum leader". What do you think, will the communism in Cuba survive Castro's death? Cuba after Castro Though old, I think this article is very interesting. __________________

| Good question. I don't know, honestly. Castro, although he after a while turned into a dictator, started out (just like most other important political characters, Hitler for instance) as a man that was deeply involved in what he was doing and had an extraordinary love for his country and wanted to protect the weak. I don't support him but when you look at the facts, he did do a great deal of good things for Cuba - for instance, he lowered the number of analphabets, he built out a free education and health system and so on. But he's turned corrupt, and now he's killing off people that doesn't agree with him - which goes totally against the idealism of communism - it wants everyone to mean what they want to mean. I think the so called "communism" (which I don't think it is any more) that is in Cuba these days will continue. Because Castro will pass the power to a family member or a close friend who will continue where he let go, because it takes quite some time to build up another parties when everything else is forbidden - and, frankly, it has quite much support in the people there. Cuba and the USA has a very bad relationship which is not weird when you look at their history, so I think there's a bit more negative thoughts towards Cuba in the US than other places. __________________ Sometimes l o o k s speak louder than words. - LoVe 2004-2007 | |||
