To be fair seems like perfect timing to me. All the talk of the Batman movie has been about Heath (rightly so his performace was amazing.) Bale isn't exactly in the limelight. All publicity is good publicity.

& It's a family matter i think. I doubt it's as bad as reports are making out.

I'll reserve judgement til the facts are out, but I don't think being accused of assaulting your family is ever good publicity. Especially seeing as it was the victim's themselves who came forward with the charge. I can't imagine they'd want to be putting their son & brother in this spot when he's at the height of his career.

According to the statement he released via his spokesperson, he's denying the claims. (News from WENN)

More to the point, since it certainly wouldn't be the first time that a celebrity denied charges laid against them, it seems that he was let go from the police station, which certainly lends credence to his assertion that he went there on his own volition to give his account of the events in question.

I'm hoping that this isn't true. I'm kind of surprised that a family member of his would come out and say that he did something like this. I'll wait to all the facts are out.

What does the movie have anything to do with this?

There has to be something else going on. I hope that the family are able to resolve this in private.

I saw that yesterday on big screen in the street when I was in Liverpool, England. Wow its weird, never though it could happen. Hope its all wrong.

I heard that it wasnt a physical assault. He was in a heated argument with his family.

the way I understand, he just bumped into them in a hallway or something. he probably was in a rush to do a press junket or something, and they took it the wrong way.

Well, whatever happened, he was on his way to a press junket as several reporters have been reporting on how this all developed on the day when they were doing interviews with the whole cast at that very hotel.

It just doesn't make sense why they would press charges then. We're talking about his immediate family, not some stranger off the street looking to make a buck.

I don't know... wouldn't be the first time people try to ride a famous family member's coattails to fame and fortune.

I do think it's unfortunate. Whatever happened, whether he's at fault, whether they're at fault, whether it's all a big misunderstanding... it's kinda sad that it's all become part of the public domain.

I agree! That's a terrible thing to do to a family member. If it did indeed happen, his mother and sister could've kept this a private manner. Plus, I heard that they had offended his wife and that's why he said something back to them.
