A California business that unveiled the world's first cloned cat is reportedly ready to start taking orders from the public. The company's CEO told the San Francisco Chronicle the firm has now cloned the world's second and third cat clones -- eight-week-old Bengal kittens. Five customers are paying $50,000 each to clone their cats. The company expects to have those cloned kitties ready by December. | Why is cloning even necessary? Maybe it would be beneficial for cloning organs and whatnot, but cloning living things? That's where I draw the line, personally. It's ridiculous. I would never clone my little cat Peaches, because the clone would be just that--a clone. | Why would someone clone a CAT? Of all the animals...I mean at least clone something good like a cow or chicken...yummm...but a CAT? That is just what we need, MORE cats in this world... | |||

| I like my dog and everything but i don't think that it would be the same if i got her cloned. I would always think of her as the fake one. She just would be Dusty in my head. Plus, if i wanted another dog, i'll just go to the animal shelter or something, instead of paying 50,000 dollars for one. | |||

| This is so stupid. I would never want to clone my cats, there is no other cat that would be able to replace them because even if some clone was physically the same they would not have the same personality. My kitties are like my babies I could never replace them. Besides, there are so many homeless cats that are in need of a good home these people would be better to go and rescue one of those poor animals.
