Lucky is now going to a new home in Northern California. Lucky's former owner was arrested last month after he and friend strapped a lit explosive to Lucky and tossed her in a lake. Luckily for Lucky, the explosive didn't go off and she was fished from the water before drowning. Lucky's former owner and his friend were arrested on animal cruelty charges, and Lucky was taken to the House Rabbit Society to await adoption. Officials of the rabbit rescue group say they had hundreds of requests to adopt Lucky before deciding on a woman from Concord. Copyright 2004 by The Associated Press. | I'm not much of an animal person but I can't believe people do things like this. I have some friends who found a cat covered in petrol, it had been left behind by their next door neighbours who had moved out. | I don't understand how someone could do that and think, gee this is fun. its like those people who dont' want to take care of their dogs anymore and drive out in the middle of nowhere and leave them there. Its just crazy. | |||
