| A Boy's Violin Saves His Life Source:10 News San Diego Hit-And-Run Victim Sings Violin's Praises - San Diego News Story - KGTV San Diego LANCASTER, Pa. -- A Lancaster boy who police said was hit Wednesday morning by a drunken driver said his violin might have helped save his life. Ben Stutzman, 9, was on his way to school when a vehicle hit him in a crosswalk, police said. The fourth-grader at Wharton Elementary School was carrying his violin case, WGAL-TV in Lancaster reported. "I remember someone sitting me up on the sidewalk and said I had flown 10 feet in the air," said Stutzman. "The car mostly hit the violin, and it took most of the impact." Stutzman suffered cuts and bruises on his face. He was expected to be released from the hospital Thursday. His violin was ruined. Police said the car's driver, Dayton Cassel, 20, fled the scene. Police said he was later caught and arrested. Cassel is charged with hit-and-run, driving under the influence and speeding. --------------------------------------------------------------- That boy is extrememly lucky!
