| Bigots Set Fire to UCC Church in Virginia In the latest in hate crime news: UCC Church Set on Fire, Anti-Gay Messages Found As some of you may know, the United Church of Christ (a Protestant denomination of Christianity) recently endorsed same-sex marriage in the last month. As a result, a small UCC church in Middlebrook, VA was set on fire early morning Saturday and anti-gay messages were graffitied on the walls. Very scary stuff. Reminds me of the cross burnings and anti-black hatred of the 1950's and 1960's. Why are people so intolerant and hateful? I'll never figure it out. __________________ When people get the opportunity to talk about the real issues, it becomes clear how vacuous the present agenda is. I have never met anyone in Vermont who thinks it's a good idea to give tax breaks to billionaires and cut back on health care and education. Nobody.-U.S. Representative Bernie Sanders | |||
