“BEAUTY” WILL SAVE THE WORLD.

Dear fellow-citizens!

There is a point in every person’s life, when it’s time to think about: “why do I live?” Exactly the same moment of life has happened today for the whole Humankind, when we should stop and answer the question: “where are we going?”
In a matter to answer this question, let’s look around. What do we see? We see comfortable World, where there is everything for good people’s life. During many hundreds of years of existence people invented a lot of beautiful things: nice clothes, modern homes, luxurious cars, planes, telephones, computers, Internet, art, television, etc. On the other hand, humankind made its life not only comfortable, but also secure, when it invented such social institutes as a family, a school, a church and a State.
Thus we can easily see, that our modern World reminds a nicely built house, where there is everything for a happy and wise life. But if we look at it more attentively, we can notice, that it is dirty in the house, dust covers everything, spider webs at the corners, the mountain of dirty dishes… and people, living in this house have squabbled with each other badly.
Here are some pictures from today’s life.
A husband claims to his wife: “I am not going to help you with anything around the house, because I am already doing an extremely important job – I make money!”
A sick father informs his 40-year old son about his coming death. The son replies: “Don’t forget to put your truck in my name, Daddy!”
A 16-year old girl is bragging to her friends: “During summer break I prefer not to get into serious relationships with guys, that way I can have sex with as many of them as I want.”
A mom asks a daughter to clean her room: to wipe dust, to vacuum. A daughter “rolls her eyes” and answers: “Why?”
In American High school and probably not only American, it is hard to find a kid, who has not tried marihuana yet. Usage of this drug became so popular, that authorities would rather make it legal, than try to fight this disaster. In some American states they already discuss this opportunity. Another teenager’s “disease” of these days is “videogames mania” (adults are “sick “ from it too, by the way).
An enormous amount of people sit in front of TV’s and computer’s screens, playing games, chewing sandwiches, ruining their physical and moral health. Look in the Internet – you will see a huge amount of pornography advertisement. The woman has lost any kind of respect in this World – often men “reward” women among themselves with such names as “bitch”, “hot chick”, “fat ass”…
Seems, that we, people, during long history of our existence, gave a lot of attention to the outer world, making it better, but our inner world always stayed the same. Otherwise, how to explain, that it is now 21 century outside, but nations still make wars with each other, being unable to make agreements. People lie, use violence, steal, betray each other, value money and success higher than kindness, pleasure and sex higher than love and sacrificing… Drugs, which kill the living soul, become generally accepted norm of behavior. The cult of entertainment and fun dims the minds. People become unable to think reasonably, chasing prosperity, being in everyday hunt for more and more money, wealth, or just doing nothing and “chill”.
However there is nothing surprising in all that. History does not make mistakes, only people do. Evidently it is time for us, my dear co-citizens of Earth, to turn “History’s run” into a different direction, in the direction of A HUMAN. And we must do it! We, simple people, inhabitants of the planet Earth, have to make a choice. Let’s say to the World and to each other: enough of being hooked to the producing of goods and services, let’s look at ourselves! There is such an enormous amount of goods in this World today, that it is just impossible to consume it all! Think about it, does our life measure itself just by economical indexes of production and consumption growth? Long time ago people did not have clothes, food, warm home and tasks of getting food were on the first place. But today almost everybody on this Earth has enough food or entertainments. So let’s start doing something else – let’s begin develop person’s inner world, make it more beautiful, kind and humane. And together with that let’s change our World towards more Kindness, Love and mutual Understanding. Let’s create Beauty in this World – beauty of person’s actions, beauty of relationships between people, beauty of the world around us.
Here are a few examples of the beautiful actions. Udmurtian artist Sergei Orlov decided not to trade his Art, but give his original paintings as gifts to people, charging only a very small fee to pay for the “paint and paper” and not concerning about the profit. Another example: there is a woman in Russia, who cures people from incurable diseases during more than 10 years for a very scanty fee. One of the most famous musician in Russia Boris Grebenshikov says that he is disgusted by the idea of making money and his main business is to write music. Thousands of families in Ukraine quit their jobs and moved to the land to grow beautiful gardens and raise kids in harmony with Mother Nature. Japanese prime minister refused to get paid when his country needed help. Irina Enina asked residents of her home town Dalnegorsk (Russia) not to rely on authorities but rather to donate the money themselves and repair the children’s hospital. Six friends in North Carolina saved 400 homeless cats… I think, we can find a few more of similar cases.

“Beauty” will save the World!
