But there's a video of that whole scene and it shows Obama turning to his right to help the woman behind him step down. It's completely different than that photo.

Sarkozy is still smirking though.

Yes I could only link the vid too and it just shows how deceiving photos can be, everyone had that same reaction until they saw the vid. Obama is such a gentlemen the way he helped the lady down the steps and he never even noticed the pretty woman, but Sarkosy is another story.

Oops..I didn't even see the link to the video in your post. Sorry! My only excuse was that I just woke up and didn't have any coffee yet.

It's amazing that some media (Fox News) is still reporting on that picture and not the video which makes the whole thing very innocent. Obama comes off very different.

Oh, so he wasn't trying to get his "mack" on like what the news has been showing and stuff?

I'm not all that surprised Fox do that though, considering how bleeding red they are

I don't get FOX News... I don't think anyway... but I do get The Daily Show With Jon Stewart and, though it's obvious the man has his own biases, I've seen that show put together the full clips that are aired edited by FOX News often enough that, should I ever see FOX News, I now know not to trust a single piece of footage they air.

The Daily Show is kind of a parody news program like Stephen Colbert. A lot of times they make fun of the media just as much as they do actual reporting. All news networks have bias, CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC, all have their own political affiliation and their own agenda. The best way to get a good picture is to pull from different sources. Watch Fox and CNN, or watch CNN and look at internet news sources. I'm a moderate, so there are certain times that Fox is more in line with my views, and other times CNN is, but by watching both, or understanding both sides of an issue, it's easy to become better informed and perhaps find some truth somewhere in the middle.

I actually go one (well, four actually) further than that.

I'm in the rather privileged position of speaking two languages (French and English) and living in a province where news is available from a variety of perspectives. So, it's not just CNN v. FOX News.

I watch British news, American news, French-from-France news, French Canadian news and English Canadian news. And, believe me, that's at least five totally different perspectives on any news item, usually more.

But that's also why I can't really judge the real impact of Fox News. For one thing, again, I don't get that station. For another, and how to put this delicately... but what little I have seen of it seems to be fairly ridiculed the world over. But, if that fair? I don't know. I can't judge for myself on that one. And who knows, maybe Americans don't take it seriously either.

I feel like it's a mix. Is Fox news biased, yes and no. If you're watching just a news show and not one of the opinion pieces like Glen Beck or someone like that, then it's fairly straight forward. They may have people on who are a little more right leaning, but CNN does the same thing by having more left leaning individuals. Of course, to a liberal, anything that doesn't at least in some ways adhere to some of their values is tripe and the same goes for a conservative. For a liberal, Fox news is a joke, for a conservative it's CNN. It's all the same in the world of media bias.

CNN is nothing compared to MSNBC when it comes to bias liberal views.

I feel like CNN is the most neutral of the three, but it still has a liberal bias. I've seen that just in the past few days with the health care reform information that's being offered on all the channels.

I think CNN is a close second to FOX. They are so mediocre now compared to when they first started out. Lou Dobbs and his obessions with the birthers? Campbell Brown married to a former Bush mouthpiece for the great success story of Iraq? They're sinking fast and I don't consider them liberal at all. Nor even objective to be honest - it's all about money and ratings for them.

I think there's a reason Jon Stewart came out ahead of the big three network anchors in terms of trust. Sadly the heads of the major news organizations are insulted instead of looking at why people think the way they do.

In terms of health care reform the story everywhere this week has been how Obama will fail, it's this, it's that. If you listen to them and their talking points we might as well all pack it in. It's been a joke this week to listen to all of them.

Yeah, but I still consider them the lesser of the two evils. Until O'Reilley is off that station, I could never watch Fox News.
