His Washington state birth certificate reads "Jake Matthew Thompson Two Point Zero." His Social Security card reads simply "Jake Matthew Thompson." Even Gerber Baby Foods couldn't fill an order for a Jake 2.0 spoon and sent one that merely said "Jake." Jake was born a year ago. His parents, Kyle Thompson and Dawn Carpenter, named him after a science-fiction character. The say he's an upgrade of themselves. Copyright 2005 by The Associated Press. | why cant parents just give kids normal names these days... jake Mathew Thompson, nice normal name, and then they have to try and add something "creative" to it  its like there is a competition as to who can give their kid the weirdest name __________________ | |||

| Hmmm... I don't quite know how to respond to this. ETA: I decided that perhaps if they had named the son after the father, then instead of him being Jr, he'd be 2.0. | Wasn't that a television show on UPN last year? With Christopher Gorham from Popular? I kind of feel like it dehumanizes the kid, and I think he'd have it tough in school because of that name.
