I have family there and still haven't heard anything back yet. Oh, this is just too much.

I am sorry to hear that. I hope your family is alright.

I have a good friend of mine whose boyfriend is from there and his family is having a really hard time right now because they can't seem to get in touch with anyone to tell them that their loved ones are okay.

And you saw on the news I'm sure that the Red Cross offices have been utterly destroyed by this, and Doctors Without Borders are saying that the conditions at present are utterly inadequate to do more than make people comfortable and keep them alive as best they can. They cannot treat severe injuries or even assess possible internal ones properly.

Fortunately, I've also heard that hospital ships from Brazil and the United States are on their way. They'll need those for triage and treatment.

And Canada's elite army search and rescue units have already been deployed, so they should be there by now.

I guess we can all help however we can at this point and hope that help from all over can get to Haiti pretty quickly.

Thanks Sunny & Susan for your kind thoughts. So far we've heard that our family members are all accounted for but the info. is just slowly coming in right now.

Even after everything that's going on, I couldn't believe this happened today:

Okay, that is the first time I've heard that Pat Robertson made that comment during a fundraiser for Haiti. Everyone in that room must had been like "Huh?!!"

He's odious. That's not new. Pat Robertson is a tool, a quick look at his quotes of the past will reveal that much.

Yeah, he's as bad as Kanye West when he made that outburst about how President Bush didn't like Black people during the televised Hurricane Katrina fundraiser. I mean, if you're going to say stuff like that then you're better off not helping at all.

I just don't get this - the U.N. has some nerve to order the doctors that came of their own free will to help the people injured in the earthquake to leave Haiti. Maybe they're just satisfied knowing that they've got their own team helping them find they're own people. Just unbelievable. And then they have the audacity to say this:

Oh please. The help is there!!! It's right there!!! I'm sorry. It's just so upsetting. The people are suffering and still the help is being refused. It really breaks my heart.

what, they are asking doctors to leave? why would they do that? If there is anything this country needs right now it should be doctors! (and of course medical supplies and facilities where they can work.

No, it's completely understandable and I couldn't agree with you more.

Yeah, they say it was because they heard about supposed rioting going on and wanted to get them out of there. Even if that was true, what did you expect them to do? These people are desperate. You can't just expect them to sit around and play dominoes while they're bleeding to death!
