Where the **** is the government guidelines in a case like this?
Corrupt police, someone must've bribed them. It's actually possible in 2006 to take a rape kit, which it seems like they didn't even bother to do.

What makes you think the eunuchs would want him? Eunuchs in India are a very sensitive case, with some taking on the role for ancient Hindu religious reasons, and so on. I doubt they'd want a rapist in their midst.

And in a world where women are getting punished for BEING raped, this case is horrible. But as the article says, the village court doesnt have any further power - that's the root of the problem that needs to be addressed, here.

Yes, yes, I too am aware of the plight of the hijra. A life of prostitution and begging on the streets for this bastard seems fairer than 51 slaps.

But then again, if that's not bad enough, Singapore will cane you in public for littering or tagging (grafitti).

Although what this guy did was wrong, he actually got a light punishment

That isnt even close to punishment of what he did.

He will probably still do it again, and what they will give him another 51 slaps or more?
