The Republicans were pretty rough on the Clintons in the 90's but it was the talking heads that did it. Elected Republican officials criticized but they never went as far as McCain and Palin are doing.

The "kill" him shout out is pretty bad though. You just have to hope that Americans don't fall for it.

Paliln is such a hypocrite - she's had witch hunters praying over her, goes to a church that had the "Jews for Jesus" guy and she's moaning and groaning about Rev. Wright.

I don't know. It was John McCain himself that said Chelsea Clinton was ugly during a Republican fundraiser. He said "Why is Chelsea Clinton so ugly? Because her father is Janet Reno." This was back when Chelsea was a kid. While it's certainly not a death threat, it's a very low blow, to call Clinton's young daughter ugly at a public event.
