| 14-Month-Old Toddler Submerged In Boiling Water http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/news/sta..._scalding.html Man Charged With Scalding Girlfriend's Daughter By The Associated Press (12/29/04 - FORT WORTH, TX) — Arlington police have arrested a man suspected of scalding his girlfriend's 14-month-old daughter while the mother was at work. The girl suffered severe burns to her feet, legs and buttocks, after being immersed in boiling water Monday, said police spokeswoman Christy Gilfour. The girl was in fair condition at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas late Tuesday. Edwon Kumont Julian, 27, was in the Arlington Jail on Tuesday charged with injury to a child in lieu of bond set at $25,000. The child's mother told investigators she discovered the toddler's injuries after returning from work Monday night. The child was crying with blisters on her feet. The mother had left the child and two other small children with her boyfriend at their Arlington apartment while she went to work. Julian told investigators the toddler accidentally spilled a glass of hot water that he was using to clean her up after she soiled her diaper, Gilfour said. But investigators said the seriousness of the child's burns and splash marks on her body indicated she had been immersed in scalding water. "Our investigation has determined the child's injuries are not consistent with the suspect's account of what occurred," Gilfour said. Gilfour said Julian did not try to get medical assistance for the child, who he said had been scalded nearly 10 hours before her mother got home. The other children were not injured, Gilfour said. | Stuff like this should scare the hell out of everybody. A poor innocent child is treated this badly..and the lies this man told to try to get away with it.
