*crosses fingers for Tom getting the JLA movie*

There are more rumblings...

Over on countingdown.com a poster there had a call about a verbal agreement having been reached with Al & Miles in regard to negotiating Tom's availability for JLA...

Calls to Tom's agent from there got a no comment, when before he was giving out denials...

Over on IESB.net Robert has said a call to Gough's agent to confirm this got him referred to the PR department of William Morris instead of an outright denial....

Nothing official yet, but it's looking better for Tom to get that movie.

I'm so happy there's still a chance!! I thought it was all over and Tom was not in it. I'm crossing my fingers too. It would be soooooo great!!!!

this after another posting a few days back that the cast was complete, so I think there's still hope.

There's nothing official, yet, but I think some cautious optimism might be warranted.

I'm there with all the cautious optimism I'm allowed!! Powers that be, please let this happen for all of Tom's fans!! We all deserve this movie with Tom in it because it's been way too long since he's done a movie. We deserve the publicity shots, the movie premiere night (with Tom in attendance), Tom doing the rounds of talk shows, the whole thing! We all work hard for Tom when any polls come around, we talk about him constantly, buy his DVD's, any magazines with his pictures in them so WE DESERVE THIS MOVIE.

Yeah, but Gough was quoted online recently as saying Tom never talked to him about this...

Is he lying? Or is Tom's involvement a total fabrication?

It's enough to drive a fan crazy...

It's gotten even more confusing.

Last week, there were reports that Tom was *definitely* out following a Hollywoord Reporter news item on a "marathon" casting session for the film. They had auditions with dozens of Hollywoood's hottest young bods over a couple of days time and Tom wasn't one of them and one of the parts they had all those people were allegedly reading for was for Superman...

The director had flown up from Australia (helmer George Miller is an Aussie) to oversee these auditions and then the excrement really hit the fan.

There were some leaked script pages and they sounded horrible. If true, probably the only reason I'd see this was if Tom is in it and I'd worry for the affect being in the film would have on his career long-term it's that bad! So, combine that with the they might be casting a whole bunch of 20 somethings, it looked like the film was going to become a live-action version of Superfriends.

But you might be glad to know that hope is not totally gone. More rumors resurfaced a day or so ago that script that leaked was a hoax and that Tom is in fact going to be Superman in this film (and that Batman and Green Lantern had also been cast) and that the people auditioning last week were trying out for other parts.

But on the other hand, Al Gough and a guy from DC comics poo-pooed the idea, saying Tom definitely wasn't going to be in this film.

So, who to believe? Rumors flying on internet forums? Or semi-official denials from DC comics guys and Al?

There is set to be a formal announcement of the entire main cast (7 in all: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter) on November 18th. So, we should finally know in about a month for sure.

With the warring rumors, I'm not going to report this again on tw.org until then if you're curious why I haven't said a word...

It's been quite the roller coaster ride and it's not over yet.

I don't blame you, Cindy, it's enough to drive anyone crazy! The internet is great for a lot of things and rumors is one of them. Some people overhear conversations or parts of conversations and run with what they thought they heard. Taken put of context, anything can sound horrible - or wonderful. Maybe we should start our own rumor. Something really big. I know, I hear that Tom is getting his own TV show after Smallville! What kind of show should it be?

Well, I've updated and it again looks like Tom might be out of Justice League.

Cindy, have you seen the announcement?

The affiliation actually happened 2 years ago (how time flies!), on the 25th of July, 2005, in fact. It's just that we are now looking for more ways to contribute to tomwelling.org, and I wanted to come up with a unified annoncement in case there are more affiliations to come. I now changed the date of the announcement, too.

The Comics Alliance poll link worked for me today! I was able to vote, and Tom is still in the lead, by far, with 33% of votes cast!
