Thanks Leigh!! This is definitely real. London Film & Comic Con is an established UK Comic Con and has been running for some years. I actually had no idea we had such big comic cons here in the UK. If I was more aware, I would have waited for this opportunity and ignored Star Sanctum completely.

Yes, I got the full refund of £499 from Star Sanctum. Couldn't get the refund from the hotel as that was non-refundable, but it's no big deal.

This one is FAR cheaper.

I'll be just doing the one day, Saturday 28th July. I bought the Diamond Pass which is specific to meeting Tom and includes Photo Op, autograph session and prime seat at the panel talk - £116 and I bought a Saturday entry ticket - £23. So that's only £139 - BIG difference. It might not be quite as dazzling as that VIP package but that was always going to be too good to be true. This is much more realistic. And I'm completely happy with that.

I still need to book it off from work though. It kinda sucks, 'cause the week I have booked off in July is like a couple of weeks before the event, so I'm going to ask if I can swap that week and take Saturday 28th off (luckily I still have 13 1/2 hours left to book).

I got the time off work! I swapped the week I originally had off in July to that week, so I've got from Wednesday 25th July - Friday 3rd August and I'll be back at work on Saturday 4th August. So I have a good few days to recover from the excitement and gushing.

Well, I bought the Diamond Pass, which I believe is for the whole three days (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) but I thought if I could just do it all in one day it would be great. When I paid, I was given the option of which day I wanted to have the Photo Op, and I chose the Saturday, which is the same day he is going to do the talk. I guess if I somehow can't get the autograph on the Saturday (since it is the busiest day) then I could either collect on Sunday (which I hear is slightly quieter than Saturday) or go earlier than planned and get it on Friday (which is the quietest). If I wanted to, I could pay extra for more than one auto and photo op. I'm still figuring out the finer details at the moment.

I'm trying to join the official Showmasters forum, in which there is a dedicated board for the London Film & Comic Con, and there are people there who can help answer any questions, especially for newbies. I need to join so I can ask my questions, but it's taking a few days for my email validation to come through so I can post (someone has to manually do that for everyone who joins up so it takes a while).
