I feel after Legion the writers sort of loss their way.

And it hurt because Season 8 actually had one of my favorite Smallville season stars...

Season 5 and 8 actually but disliked the second half of both seasons... it seems after the mid season finale, Smallville loses it touch...

I thought the second half of S5 was ok, though it was sad without Jonathan. S8 I would agree with, but I do like Hex and Stiletto and they are in the second half. Hex in particular is SO much fun.

I think it was just a Smallville error in general, they always started the seasons great but when mid season comes, they forget how to continue on with it. lol

I'm trying to remember which season where I liked the second half more than the first half....
I think season 1 was a balance with all the episodes since it was the start.
Season 2-3 was pretty consistent but after that, not too much FOR ME.

Hex was just so much fun, from start to finish.

I never really saw it that way. Each season had it's good points and bad points, but I don't think I saw the second half of any later season to go off the rails. Yeah, there were some bad episodes, like in S4 2nd half, Ageless. I thought most seasons ended strongly, except with the S8 finale of course.

I understand what you mean. I blame the TPTB because they were always unsure as to weather there's going to another season or not.

Regardless, for me, I love all of Smallville.

Yeah, that's true. Every year it was uncertain whether they would be returning for another season, so that uncertainty probably left the writers unsure of what they wanted to do.
