Oliver (Justin Hartley) tells Clark (Tom Welling) he must kill Davis (Sam Witwer), as Doomsday is a serious threat and must be stopped at all costs. However, Clark struggles with taking a human life, so the Green Arrow and his team decide to take matters into their own hands.

Lois (Erica Durance) takes on Tess (Cassidy Freeman), but the fight takes a shocking turn.

Meanwhile, Chloe (Allison Mack) gets caught in the middle of Oliver and Clark's battle over killing Davis. Aaron Ashmore also stars.

James Marshall directed the episode written by Brian Peterson & Kelly Souders.

Wow. I just .. didn't like that finale in the least save for a few scenes. What a letdown.

^ yeah it was a bit of a letdown to me as well. i honestly thing it was the worst season finale Smallville has ever had. usually their finales are filled with so much action and emotion that leaves you on the edge of your seat and the minute the eppisode has ended you're calculating exactly how long it will be until the next season starts but this time i was like, "Umm, okay...WTF, that was it???

Now if you haven't seen it yet and don't want to know what happened then i suggest not to read this next part.

okay, how exactly did it make sense for them to kill Jimmy while Chloe was right there. i mean maybe it's just me but what happened to her meteor power where she could heal people??? i'm sitting here looking at this scene like "WTF, why doesn't she just heal him???" i mean i know Clark took away her Braniac powers but that should have nothing to do with the fact that she is meteor infected and her only power is to heal and Jimmy's dying in her arms and she does nothing.

that was just stupid!!! aand Jimmy's brother is Jimmy, ridiculous!!!

who is his father, George Foreman who names all his kids George??? HOW STUPID!!!

so besides that we have the Lois thing... i thought the phone call between her and "The RBB" was great but i found it odd that since Clark knew he was going to be fighting the beast that when she suggested meeting him in a phonebooth downtown he didn't suggest someplace else out of harm's way. not that it really mattered since she never made it there but still, that was weird. then i found the ring transporting her prettty interesting but i felt let down that she wasn't seen at all after that. i think it would have been a better impact if we knew where she went... not a whole explanation but maybe just a glimpse od her looking around and saying "Where the hell am I?" at the end of the eppisode or lying someone just so your curiosity is piqued.

the other problem i had with this eppisode is how anti-climatic it was. i mean they've been building this battle up between Clark and Doomsday through the whole season and their fight was like 30 seconds long. i mean the "sorta flying" thing was good but then we never saw how he got him down tere, the explosion, how Clark got out, why he never let anyone know he'd gotten out till the last scene with Chloe... it was just disappointing.

and the end, what was that? it kinda looked like Braniac standing there in the middle of the Zod symbol. and if that sphere was a fall safe to control Clark if he got out of hand, how is it that something from Zod came out of it.

there were a few moments i liked though... Jimmy helping his Clark and his reaction to his secret, it was a really good scene. the fight between Tess and Lois was pretty good as well although when they said their battle took a shocking turn i was hoping somehow Tess was taken out of the equation but alas no such luck. either way the fight was great and Lois' disappearing act was pretty kool, besides the fact that it happened so early in the eppy and we never saw her again.

all in all though, i was extremely disappointed in the eppy which says alot beacuse their finale's never ceased to deliver before this one. i only hope when the next season returns, they've gotten their mojo back and the first eppisode makes up for this debacle.

I hated what they did with Jimmy. And I hate even more that DC Comics would never really wanted SV to have him on the show, finally agreed but in the end, the producers had to "fix" the problem they had. Still I feel cheated and betrayed by DC Comics.

Also this proved once again why a) SV deserves a bigger budget and b) this finale should have been two hours.

yes, they should have had a bigger budget. i'm not sure wheter the two hours though would've made it better or wordse becase the end seemed to drag IMO but maybe they had to cut alot out.

I think two hours could have helped because the fight was so anti-climatic and I feel like the pacing would have been a lot better. Not to mention the lazy writing and killing off a DC character who isn't actually the "supposed" iconic character. A lot of the problems were writing and pacing for me .. and I am not even going to start on the issues with being betrayed and hurt by what they pulled with the whole Jimmy situation.

Some spoiler things from other superman related info.

Ok I have read the threads here and just wanted to say, sure the fight seen sucked, the sorta flying, or was he thing could have been a little insite into maybe next season Clark can fly. But just incase nobody else here know's, go find Superman/Doomsday, the cartoon and watch it!!! because I can tell you know, that after Clark talked to Chloe, and he said Clark Kent is dead. and then he kind of disappeared like a ghost, thats because he is dead!!!! but Superman doesnt die like normal people. he just dies enough, his heart beats every few days once or something like that. thats what they say on Superman/Doomsday. After watching this episode, I Wanted to see what the cartoon was like to compare them to each other. So I predict, Clark died with doomsday in the explosion and comes back to life, and MAYBE he fly's a little this year, but they might still have that gay no tights/no flights thing!
