Yep

Lois: "What's with the funky paperweight?"
Clark: "I'm not sure."
(He picks it up and it starts glowing)
Lois: "Well at least it came with batteries"

Oh Lois, how you slay me

I just re-watched that episode last night - Lois has some very funny lines there.

To be honest, I was surprised that Clark didn't try to immediately hide the crystal from her, after opening the box...I think that must be because of their increasing trust and growing relationship.

They've been through a lot already, so yeah, it's believable that those trying times would strengthen their bond.
Not to mention the fun they have, teasing each other.

Szilvia, that surprised me too. Normally he'd quickly snap the box shut or hide it away, but I guess that shows that he really is getting quite comfortable with Lois and trusting her more and more.

Yeah, it was a bit surprising to see Clark keep the crystal out in the open around Lois, but I think it was a step in the right direction, by now.
At least it wasn't obviously labelled 'Kryptonian Crystal' or anything like that.

LOL that would have been funny. I'd like to see Clark try and explain that one to Lois.

Clark's come up with some pretty interesting 'explanations' for various people, so I'm sure he'd be creative.
Although I'm guessing Lois might see through it, at least a bit, if not entirely.

I think Lois gives him a free pass a lot of the time. I'm inclined to believe that she at least supects that something's different about him, but she's waiting for him to tell her on his own terms.

That's probably true. Lois has pretty good intuition...that reminds me of how she outsmarted that guy who was released from Black Creek in 'Identity.'

Yeah and she protected Clark by making sure they didn't shake hands.

Oh, that's right!! Of course I didn't get that during the first viewing - I thought she was just trying to get rid of him, because of her 'date' with Sebastian.

Heh I always thought it was a bit odd that she almost lept in front of Clark and grabbed his hand to get it out of the way so when they had their dinner date things made a lot of sense.

Yeah, I mean, Lois is impulsive, but that 'near leap in front of Clark' did seem unusual at the time.
